I started going to the city library to work. It really helps with my focus. Though you can't do certain things like having calls and other kinds of things but it stops my other bad habits like going to the fridge for a snack, lying on the couch, or just doomscrolling on YouTube. Changing the environment was really a game changer.
Avoiding work
I did The Discomfort Audit today in the classroom And I discovered I am avoiding work because I just didn't really allow myself to fail. And look like I am new or don't really know what I am doing. I have always tried to keep up this image of myself that makes no mistakes and does an incredible job, but it is delusional. You can't just become an expert from day 1. To be specific, what I usually do with my work is something like that: I close a new client and start working. And then the time comes to edit the first video or make the first thumbnail, then all the struggle starts. First, I will start with distractions, which keeps me safe for 3 or 4 days. But 1 or 2 days before the deadline, it becomes too strong to avoid. And I start working, and sometimes I finish and send the work. But most of the time, I spend too much time on it and ask the client to postpone more and more, and keep avoiding it. Eventually, they will stop expecting the video and say we're done. And ironically, I achieve what I am trying to avoid, which is looking incompetent and being unprofessional by just ghosting these clients. So my solution for that is just to be comfortable with failing and take as many rejections as possible and get a lot of feedback from clients. The goal is not to close clients and get paid, but to get like 5 no's from potential prospects. Or sending the work anyway when the deadline hits, even if I feel like the work isn't done. What happens is I get feedback, change it, and keep improving it. And this quote from Carl Von Clausewitz resonates really well with my situation "A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan next week."

@Yordi Nolet Yes, I’m happy I finally realized that. I kinda lost the last 6 months with this problem. When it comes to doing 4 hours of work in the morning, I usually can’t do hard, focus-demanding, or creative work in the morning. I’m at my peak from 2pm to 7pm. In the morning, I usually spend time on networking and low-energy tasks.

@Yordi Nolet What is your view on quick 20 or 30 minute nap in the afternoon?
