Does anyone here also play bass, banjo, etc?

For those who, were not a part of our old Guitar Shop's history, I feel like you guys would have fit right at home, had you been there at that time. I see so much of the very things I've missed, in this community, and I think those that were there at the time, can understand how special that place was. It's kind of cool, to see how everyone's fit in here, and it just makes this a very special moment in my life, and in this time. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have you all here, from the new friends to the old. When someone would come into the physical shop, and that door opened, whoever was there with us (usually a fair number of people) we'd all reach out and make them feel welcome, like we wanted to genuinely feel like they were okay to be there, a welcome mat that wasn't lipservice. When someone comes into this door, this community, it's kind of the same thing, but we can't pull them a chair and shake their hands in a literal sense, so virtually it changes a little bit. But I feel like there are those same kind of things we can do, I just hadn't thought of it till now. It's one thing for me to greet people, it's another to give you guys the chance, so I have a few ideas that might kind of do that in a virtual sense. Obviously we can all say hi. But, if you want someone to experience that extra thing like back in the day, one thing is, that @ symbol. If you type that @ and then start typing the letters of their name, it will allow you to tag them, and they will get a notification, and that can bring that person out and feel seen, and welcomed to engage, a bit. The other, is, and I did not know this, but liking one another's posts is another way to recognize when someone's contributed to the conversation, and lets them know, yeah, no ones ignoring you, you're not on the outside looking in. It's great for everyone, But if you're new, and dont know anyone, that's such a great way to build kind of that thing we had back in the day. No one ever came in, and we all just looked the other way; it was always love, and "hey welcome" glad youre here, lets get to know you, and then boom, you're one of us.
