With it being June (already!!) its a great time to ask! Do you make a new guitar goal each month? I personally don’t/haven’t but maybe that would not be a bad idea, for us. It doesn’t have to be guitar specific, it might be adjacent (music theory, gear related for example, or even a project, like a workshop/practice area). I can think of a million things that I’d like to do, improve upon, but there arent enough hours in the day! But maybe we can list even a single goal we have this month, for Guitar or guitar related stuff. And then we can, I dont want to say, hold each other accountable, because of the “negative” connotation that might have for some. But I do like the idea of positively encouraging and supporting each other, towards those goals, knowing that, life happens. sometimes the biggest win, is just getting to the door, to see what may be inside! With that in mind, maybe someone can help Me, figure out an appropriate “goal” or set of goals for June. But to start off I’ll share where I see myself in a number of ways/areas, in guitar and music adjacent ways. I’ll be fully transparent here: 1- my technique, I’ve recently discovered, its declining a bit. I was surprised, because I teach all the time, and nothing noticable there, alerted Me to this. However when I was trying to improvise over tracks, I definitely noticed it, it was jarring. 2- Teaching, I want to get better at explaining things. Especially over live streaming, or posts, or video explanations. I think I’m getting there, bit by bit but maybe theres a goal I can make, something that I can accomplish, and that, also be a way that I can better improve my teaching chops. 3- Skool, I love and am energized by our community here. It’s exciting and inspiring. I want to build upon that and add to it. To find ways that live streams can be improved upon, from how they sound, to what the live recording playbacks are. I’m very encouraged at the possibilities! Are there any goals I might look at for June as far as our community? I’ll be honest, I’m content with growth here. I like how we build up and add to things organically and learn together, and let people find us, so I don't have any numbers goal in mind. Should I maybe? Even a little? I’m more like the Field of Dreams guy “If you build it, they will come”. I don’t worry about it, even a little. Is that concerning?
