I don’t think you’re nuts for recommending that. As for myself I cannot hold it that way and strum. When I first started learning, a book showed to hold it that way. My other fingers would get in the way and hit the strings. I do a two to three finger pinch.

He referred to it a song about divorcing your best friend. Uniquely the song is subtitled I Hope You Have The Time Of Your Life. The year it was released it was the number one wedding song. I still hear it played at Sweet 16 parties and Graduations.

@Jake Galambos I have to admit, I got hung up on the secondary title I Hope You Have The Time Of Your Life for a bit. lol. Literally it’s all in the whole title. It’s saying I hope you have the time of your life because I won’t be there.
