Picking up Litter
Yesterday we had a discussion about Coach Mila’s book. We talked about the good habit of picking up litter. I heard some people here hold this opinion: street‑cleaners’ job is to clean rubbish. If we do not leave rubbish on the ground, they will have no work. So they believed they have the right to leave litter. I disagree, but I did not know what would be a proper reply to argue against them.......

I believe that littering wherever you please is a really bad habit. That's what trash bins are for — and it's the street cleaners' job to empty them and keep the streets clean. Besides, streets don't just get dirty from human litter; there's also naturally occurring debris like dust, dirt, fallen leaves, grass, and so on. So street cleaners will never run out of work. Litter left on the ground only makes their job harder. The Earth is our shared home. I think that we should take care of it and appreciate it — not take it for granted.
