What I didn’t expect from GLP-1s (that had nothing to do with weight loss)
When I first started a GLP1, I was focused on one thing 👇 I needed to lose weight and I needed it to start moving ASAP. I didn't want to lose it all fast, I just needed to see movement right away and a difference in the way I was feeling in my body. But what I didn’t expect were all the other changes that had nothing to do with the scale. For me, it looked like: • zero stress around food (which I didn't expect at all) • being able to go on vacation and not worry about gaining weight, never having to worry about what I was eating and how it was going to make me feel • coming home and feeling exactly the same in my body • no more gas or bloating after eating certain foods • no more uncomfortable, heavy feeling after eating • zero puffiness in my face and body • less inflammation and joint/back pain overall But the biggest shift overall?? Just feeling calm and normal in my body again‼️ Not overthinking food. Not worrying about how everything I eat is going to affect me. I think this is the part that doesn’t get talked about enough. Most people only focus on weight loss, but for a lot of women, especially during perimenopause and menopause these changes are just as powerful. Curious… For those of you who are already on a GLP1, have you noticed any of these? I would love to hear what your biggest take away from being on this medication is that isn't weight loss??
