This October, we'll have another Make a Short Film in 21 Days Challenge! Starting Friday, October 9, you’ll have exactly 21 DAYS to write, shoot, edit, and finish your own Horror Short Film! Any kind of Horror counts! Comedy Horror, Zombie, Found Footage, Slasher, Supernatural, Psychological, Monster, Found Footage & more. Have fun with it! Here are the rules: On October 9, I’ll reveal THREE REQUIREMENTS that must appear somewhere in your film! Your mission: 🎬 Make a brand-new Horror Short Film (no budget required) ✍️ Write, shoot & edit it within the 21 days 🎃 Include all 3 mystery requirements Use whatever you have! A phone is totally fine! Finish and submit your movie by making it a Community Post by Friday, October 30. Your film can be scary, funny, weird, ridiculous, suspenseful, or anything in between, as long as it fits the Horror genre. 🏆 BEST FILM WINS A TROPHY! I'll watch all of the completed films and choose one winner for Best Film. I'll be looking at creativity, storytelling, use of the three mystery requirements, and most importantly, what you were able to create in just 21 days! On October 30, we’ll celebrate everyone who FINISHED! Who’s in?!

For those of you who attended, you might remember it, but I did take a few parts out that were exclusive to SSC members. A lot of the stuff in here is similar to what we have planned for the meeting in 2 weeks (Weds 9/30) on How To Sell a Screenplay.

If you're new to the SSC, welcome!!! We have some Awesome meetings every Wednesday this Month for those who can make it! Wednesday, Aug 5 - ✍️ Write-On Wednesday Join fellow SSC members for a meeting of accountability and writing! We'll spend the first 10 minutes and last 5 minutes sharing goals, but dedicate a focused 45 minutes to writing pages! Wednesday, Aug 12 - 🎬 7 Tips for Writing Dialogue In this Live Screenwriting Lesson, I'll share 7 practical tips I use to write stronger dialogue, followed by a live Q&A. Wednesday, Aug 19 - 🎬 How To Write a Movie In this Lesson, learn the step-by-step process I use to write a feature screenplay from idea to FADE OUT. I'll be teaching you movie structure, outlining, screenwriting tips to write more, and a lot more, followed by a live Q&A at the end. Wednesday, Aug 26 - 🎭 Pages Due: Script Reading Workshop Bring 2- 10 new pages and hear your work come to life! Everyone who attends must bring pages and participate by reading roles in other writers' scripts. Get feedback, stay accountable, and keep moving your project forward. You can find the links to all the meetings in the Calendar tab. All meetings are optional, so come to the ones you can.
