Videos Aren't Performing? Here's Why. πŸ‘€
Long form YouTube videos have 3 elements that convince the viewer to click. Idea, Title & Thumbnail. Getting all 3 right can be the difference between wasting your time, and pumping out viral hits. IDEA: Whether you're a niche or broad creator, the best ideas provide a lot of value to the audience you serve. This is the most important part, a good title and thumbnail paired with a bad idea will still perform poorly. THUMBNAIL: This is usually the first thing your viewer sees when looking at the home page. Your thumbnail's goal is to grab attention and build curiosity so that the viewer stops to take a longer look at your video. TITLE: Viewers usually see this last, so use it to provide more context, or spark more curiosity from the thumbnail. Every YouTuber I've worked with over 1 Million Subscribers do this process before they ever record the video. It's that important. If people don't click on your video, they'll never get to watch it.

Editing & Research Job (10M Subscriber Channel)
I got a DM from a buddy of mine who runs a channel with 10 Million Subscribers looking for talented editors and researchers for a new channel they're launching. It's a list-based Nintendo channel - they're looking for people who can research, capture footage, and edit videos for the channel. Got what it takes? Shoot me a DM and I'll put you in touch!

you spend 7 seconds getting people to rotate their phone before we even get into the actual content. With shorts, you wanna grab their attention and spark curiosity within 3-5 seconds so they’ll keep watching further
any advice would be highly appreciated
hello everyone would really appreciate some advice on this video I made, please be brutally honest and if you think something looks weird or you think it could be better SAY IT, thank you on beforehand https://youtu.be/iUTB1ZkIrC4?si=_h-nI9e8dOpgQtq1

First thing I'll say is that posting consistently is a core foundation to success on YouTube so don't lose that while chasing any of this feedback Who Are You? This video is primed for folks that already know of you and have followed your journey thus far. The top performing video on YouTube assume that the viewer has never seen or heard of them before. Which raises the question "who are you? and why should I listen to you?" Packaging Your titles are strong, these formats have proven to work in the past, i think your thumbnail should be more tailored to each video idea. Packaging is what separates the greats from everybody else. If they don't click, it doesn't matter how great your video or advice is.

@Jonas Hanson It's less that you're specifically targeting current viewers, and more so that you aren't optimizing for new viewers. When the video starts, you do the hook, then mention a post from another channel. An existing viewer might know what you're talking about, but showing a pic of the title/thumb would give a new viewer clarity on what you're referencing. Any time you offer advice, it's also good practice to credentials yourself to folks who don't know you. If they don't know you, you have to sell them on why they should take what you say to heart.

These two videos are about the exact same car. But one has nearly double the views in half the time. Why? YouTube is a game of packaging. The top video used psychology to get more people to click. Here's how: 1. Contrast Look at the color choices between each thumbnail. The top one has a clear separation between the background and subject. That makes it more clear compared to the bottom one. 2. Composition In the top thumbnail, the creator is kneeled beside the car to emphasize it's size, making it more visually interesting. The bottom one has the creator partially hidden by the car and doesn't achieve the same effect. 3. Clarity The title from the bottom video is long, wordy, unclear at a glance. The top video is shorter, straight to the point and easy to read quickly. Conclusion: Packaging is how you tie your idea, title and thumbnail together. Your video exists in a sea of others on the homepage and you have only seconds to make an impression and get the click. Clear = Clickable
