My first Youtube Video! What you think?
Hello guys, it's been a while! In the beginning of May I finally started my YT channel where I will talk about my projects, doing breakdown of my tracks and where I will analyze my songs through metamusic/narrative. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this, advice and especially criticism! The goal of certain videos is to, in the long run, attract potential customers. Do you think something like this could work?

@Alex Pfeffer Got it! Since I already have another video in italian ready, do you think it's better to redo it from scratch or publish it anyway?

@Alex Pfeffer As I said in the comment above, my goal would be to expand to another channel to get seen/noticed by potential clients. I should mention that I translate the video summary and make a blog post about it on my site (I don't know if that would help).
Are you willing to watch a video in another language with subtitles?
This post might be a little off topic, but I'm asking for a general survey, since I'm recording some "case study" videos to publish on Youtube. The language I'm recording them in is Italian (my language) since I can be much more empathetic than in English. You, as viewers, how do you adapt in this case? Are you willing to read subtitles or do you prefer to follow the videos in English?
Happy holidays to you all!
You are all probably already in preparations for the upcoming holidays and hopefully in chill mode soon! Just quickly wanted to wish you guys happy holidays and a great start into 2025! I also wanted to say thank you again to everyone joining this community. This all would be nothing without you! When I started the Audio Artist Academy in around the summer time of 2024 I would have never thought that we would be 1300 members strong. And the best part is, I honestly never ever have experienced a music community with an almost non-existing amount of toxicity! You rock! Stay as you are and here’s to a new year full of opportunities, projects, career paths and money! Cheerio, Alex
Happy holidays to you all!

Thank you so much, Alex! You will have probably a new student next year! :D
Should a composer dedicate himself to only one area?
As a composer of music for video games, I sometimes think I can branch out into other sectors to broaden my possibilities (production agencies, films, Sync agencies). What do you think? Is it more correct to dedicate all your efforts to a single sector or is it important to branch out?

@Alex Pfeffer Ok, because I have always mainly dedicated myself to working on video games, the sector that I like the most and also where I have more connections (and a large portfolio). But I thought: what if I also proposed myself for other sectors? This is mostly for a larger economic gain, but even here I suppose it is not a quick process. I have almost finished an album of a few tracks that I can eventually propose to production agencies, but at this point I would say to work on a better strategy for video games.

@Dave Graham Considering that I have been working in the video game industry for about 6 years, I think I still don't have a personal strategy. There is work, but often it's not enough, this is the main reason why I wanted to try another industry, even though I love mine. Maybe, however, the problem is not so much the industry but rather a lack of a precise strategy. So I will have to work on that and I will probably do it with the video game industry!

Okay, let's continue. First, make sure to watch the video and follow as described. 1. Create a demo reel that speaks directly to your desired client. 2. 4-5 tracks, not too long, again focusing on your target group 3. An attention-grabbing video could work 4. If you have credits, feel free to put them on there. It is always a good thing! 5. Regarding your bio, don't try to impress with tons of information. Try to grab attention! 6. Once you are done, share your reel in the comments so we can look at it! :) Check out Reelcrafter → HERE Want to achieve more? 👉 Book Your Free Strategy Call Now

Hello, everyone! This is my reel: https://play.reelcrafter.com/FkpbgE9WQAuVn0LoStAUfg I like it so far. The only concern is that maybe there are too many songs and one video too many. What do you think?
