🦾 Iron Man Project Update
We’ve already started our Iron Man project, just not printing yet. Right now we’re in the upfront phase: research, planning, and purchasing the 3D model files for the full suit. We’re reviewing how the suit is broken into parts, how it’s designed to assemble, and what level of complexity makes sense to take on as a family build. We’re starting with the helmet and taking it all the way to completion. That means printing, scaling, post-processing, wiring, electronics, lighting, and final assembly. The helmet is our proof-of-concept for the entire suit. If we can successfully finish this piece end-to-end, the rest of the armor becomes a much more informed decision instead of a guess. The full suit is a long-term project. This isn’t about speed. It’s about understanding the files, planning ahead, managing cost and time, and learning the skills needed to finish something complex without cutting corners. I’ll use this post to share progress updates, decisions we make, mistakes we hit, and what we learn along the way. If you’re working on a project of your own, start a post and document it as you go. Builds, prints, kits, repairs, experiments, anything in progress counts. What are you working on right now?
