I tot I taw a tweedy teacher
Two days OOTD Yesterday I reprised my roll as a tutor. After a 7 year hiatus I was asked to return to my role teaching (technically directing) a group of seniors in high school homeschoolers in a program called Classical Conversations that meets once per week. This next 15 week commitment is quite daunting on top of my other obligations. A parent whom I had taught her son back in 2016 - 2018 called me. Her teacher/director had to suddenly resign mid year for medical issues-so long story short - I have 4 young men that yesterday heard me tackle: theology (C. S. LEWIS); ancient literature-(The Odyssey); world history (The Discoverers); and in lieu of language (Latin) that the senior guys have abandoned, I am utilizing my profession as a certified master coach for Dave Ramsey to present the language of finance. This 4 hour Tuesday mornings commitment with its commensurate 9 additional hours of weekly reading should keep me out of the pool halls through early May. Yesterday ootd - Chocolate mtm Donegal tweed coat - Olive Filson vest (20 degree start of day) - CT Blue PoW French cuff shirt - Wool Challis tie - Orvis Vicuna colored moleskin trousers - Peter James houndstooth flat cap

Awesome, timeless look!
Casual afternoon out with wife and friends
Trying to step up my game by combining dressier styles (vest and shirts) with casual fabrics (cotton and some poliéster) The idea is to stand out but not overdress Still going with monochromatic bases, I think of them as “my suit” and matching leather shoes, belt and watch Everything has been simpler since I incorporated the idea of an uniform Now I just use one piece to stand out, or to give contrast A lot more to learn but having fun in the process 😜😜!!

Good look, I love waistcoats too! A small, less good looking detail that I see from coworkers as well, is the bulge in the pants from the phone. I totally get it that the phone needs to be brought along and sometimes I wear it the same way. But if I can, I really try to keep the phone out of my pant pockets to keep a good fit. Perhaps a small pet peeve of mine :-)

Looking great both of you!
Seeking Advice & Your Thoughts about your Tailoring Experiences and Insights
Hello gentlemen, I hope you had a great New Years experience and I wish you the best for 2025. I wanted to ask if you have a reliable tailor and what your experiences have been like. When you have alterations done, do you try on the garment before leaving, or do you wait until you get home? Does the tailor usually get it right the first time, and if not, are they happy to make further adjustments (at no cost)? I'm bringing this up because I recently had some items altered. The tailor didn't ask me to try the clothes on before leaving, and I had spent quite a few hundred dollars on the work. Most of the alterations were fine, but the sleeves on my sport coat, especially near the shoulders which I also had altered, aren't draping in a straight line (they are curving in slightly). I'm not sure if this can be fixed. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you.

I always try my adjusted garments on before paying and leaving the tailor. It just saves us both a lot of hassle, should something be in need of more work. I've only been satisfied so far though, but it seems reasonable making sure both parties are in agreement before closing the deal.

Well happy new year gents! I guess I’m one of the elite 7% that leaves the house on New Year’s Eve to go to parties. Either way a good excuse to dress it up! Hit me in the comments if ya wanna know about any of the pieces. Looking forward to a kick ass 2025! STAY SHARP🔪
