Really enjoying this course that you're uniquely qualified to teach. (Not calling you a psychopath, but referencing your background in corrections--although I'm guessing if I called you a psychopath, you'd take it as a compliment ;) It's interesting that you cite James Bond as a role model. He is, as you know, licensed to kill and is a consummate killer. So I'm thinking if we become killers in our chosen field (and remove homicide from the equation!), then that's part of the masculinity you're suggesting. E.g., "He's a killer guitar player". A killer golfer, writer, etc. Someone who's ruthless and goes for it all costs. The warrior archetype, I believe, is part of masculinity, but some men have more of that than others. Do you agree? Also wanted to mention another psychopathic character I love. He comes from Patricia Highsmith's crime novels. In Ripley's game, John Malkovich, on the short list of my favorite actors, shows a more cunning, grounded, and self-aware criminal. I personally relate to this type a little more than James Bond. That being said, I'm a huge Bond fan, especially of Sean Connery, whose playfulness and wit in the role really does it for me. Are you a Connery, Moore, Brosnan, or Craig fan?
