First time sponsoring Next Block Expo
First time sponsoring Next Block Expo - and wow, it did not disappoint 🐳 Every conversation we had was genuinely great. The energy, the people, the projects... way better than we expected going in. To everyone who grabbed one of our guidebooks - best of luck building something awesome. I hope it actually helps. And if you missed it, you can still grab a free copy here: https://beawhale.io/secrets/

@Arnas M The quality of people stopping by the booth surprised me tbh. Way more actual builders than the usual conference crowd. Felt like the space is finally getting past the hype phase

$500B wiped from equities and BTC barely moved
Anyone else watching this? Massive dump across traditional markets this week and bitcoin is just sitting at 70k. Ive seen this play out both ways, sometimes crypto follows a few days later, sometimes it actually decouples. Trying to figure out which one this is

The equities selloff is real but the crypto reaction is weirdly muted so far. Theres black swan chatter picking up on CT though, people comparing this to the pre-Luna period where everything felt fine until it wasnt. The difference is theres no obvious ticking time bomb right now, unless you count the Clarity Act getting gutted by bank lobbyists as a slow-burn threat to DeFi
We're sponsoring Next Block Expo
We'll be at Next Block Expo this Tuesday and Wednesday (March 24-25) in Warsaw. BeAWhale is one of the sponsors this year and we've got a booth set up. If you're going, come find us. I want to meet some of you in person instead of just reading your threads about memecoin losses. Seriously though, if you're building something in web3 and want to talk shop, grab a coffee, or just say hi, hit me up here or DM me and we'll set something up. Warsaw is about to be packed with builders.

did anyone actually read the pump.fun lawsuit
5000 leaked internal messages showing insiders had priority access to new token launches while marketing it as fair. 98.6% of tokens failed. $5.5 billion in retail losses. This is luna levels of ugly

The complaint names Solana Labs, the Solana Foundation, Jito Labs, and Pump.fun. The leaked chats apparently show coordinated MEV exploitation and priority access for insiders. If this sticks its not just a Pump.fun problem, it drags the entire Solana ecosystem into it
stablecoin issuers are making billions off YOUR money and you get $0
so Circle and Tether are sitting on like $100B+ in T-bills from our deposits and keeping all the yield. the GENIUS Act literally says they cant pay us interest. meanwhile banks are lobbying to be the only ones allowed to offer stablecoin yield through the CLARITY Act. we built this whole thing to escape banks and now they're just gonna take over?? 💀💀

here's what's actually going on. the White House set March 1 as the deadline for a compromise on stablecoin yield in the CLARITY Act. that deadline came and went with nothing. the Senate Banking Committee already postponed markup in January because there were over 100 amendments filed. the banking lobby wants yield restricted to regulated banks only, which would basically kill any DeFi-native stablecoin that tries to compete. they're not banning yield, they're deciding who gets to offer it. and surprise, it's not going to be the crypto guys

@Leo Stannard exactly. and Circle is playing both sides, lobbying for the right to offer yield themselves while cozying up to banks for distribution. Tether doesn't even bother, they just operate offshore and let everyone else fight over US rules. even if the bill stalls, the direction is clear. institutions want in and they're not coming to coexist
