Every hunter knows there comes a moment when preparation ends. You’ve checked the wind, trained in the offseason, studied the terrain, closed the distance, settled your breathing, and steadied the pin. Then comes the moment of truth: you release. Once the arrow leaves the bow, there is nothing left to manipulate. No amount of tension, worry, or fear will change its flight. Your responsibility was everything leading up to the release. The flight belongs to something beyond your control. Life works much the same way. Many of us spend our days carrying things we were never meant to carry, trying to control how people respond, force growth, guarantee success, or manage outcomes that belong to God. Faithful men learn the difference between stewardship and ownership. Stewardship says, I will prepare, I will show up, I will do the work, I will obey. Ownership says, I must make it happen. One produces peace. The other produces pressure. Whether it’s your marriage, your children, your finances, your health, or the mission God has placed before you, there comes a point where your role is simply to release what you’ve faithfully prepared and trust God with the outcome. Aim. Release. Re-Aim. That’s not just hunting. That’s faith. Because once the arrow leaves the bow, you no longer own the flight. God does.
