โ€œWhat if abundance is already here โ€“ but weโ€™ve forgotten how to see it?โ€
In our April InnerDevelopment@Work community call last week, we explored abundance โ€“ not as a goal to chase, but as a mindset we can cultivate. Not in some faraway ideal โ€“ but right here, in our everyday lives and in our work with clients and organizations. ๐ŸŒฑ Nature constantly creates abundance โ€“ yet we often rush past it, disconnected. As changemakers, we see how this rush extends into business life: there is little space for pausing, reflecting, realigning.Overconsumption, burnout, โ€œnot enoughโ€ โ€“ these are the symptoms of a deeper imbalance. Together, we reflected: ๐ŸŒ€ What if abundance is a matter of perspective? ๐ŸŒ€ What if the IDGs are not abstract ideals, but concrete levers to shift how we perceive and act โ€“ in ourselves and in systems? Especially dimensions like Complexity Awareness and Perspective Skills help us reframe: - From scarcity to presence. - From chasing more to seeing enough. - From stuckness to aligned action. ๐ŸŒฑ "๐‘จ๐’ƒ๐’–๐’๐’…๐’‚๐’๐’„๐’† ๐’ƒ๐’†๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’๐’” ๐’˜๐’‰๐’†๐’“๐’† ๐’…๐’Š๐’”๐’„๐’๐’๐’๐’†๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐’†๐’๐’…๐’”." That was our most powerful collective insight. This thread reminds me of a phrase that was used in a wrap-up of a Tony Robbins life mastery event back in 1996 and has stayed with me ever since - in good times and not so good: "All that I need is within me now". Each word of the phrase can be emphasised separately giving a slightly different meaning and perspective each time, however (at least for me) it means that if we stop to reflect we probably have all that we need at any given time if we make the effort to see and acknowledge the (abundant) resources within and around us - in nature, in human connections, in future opportunities etc.. @Sibylle Breiner Thank you for sharing.

@Ruth Habermehl Interesting point of view Ruth. I had not considered this interpretation before. I guess my understanding of it is that we have the resources and abilities to do what is needed to survive and thrive including breathing, connecting etc... And rather than focusing on limitations we can chose to focus on and find a way to use the "abundance" that is within AND around us to meet our and our communities needs.

The IDG Measurement Tool is rooted in a unique philosophy, focusing on how skills and qualities manifest in real-life situations.
