Don't Dim Your Flame
When you were young, you had vibrant dreams of beautiful, endless possibility. Before the world said "no", there were few things that diminished those dreams. I always wanted to be an artist, a musician, a race car driver and astronaut. And yet after time, the outside world observes these dream, dims it's light, and sets it in the darkest corner to wither out and be forgotten as nothing more than a product of foolish, childish endeavors. When is the last time you dreamed of limitless potential, the way you did as a child? Has your flame been dimmed, or completely snuffed out? Is it even possible to pursuit a dream? What is the reality of the situation? Is it real, or just a vision? So I ask you all this: Why did you let go of your dreams? When did you begin to say, "I can't"? And lastly, who told you this? I'm willing to bet someone else told you to "dim that flame", "be realistic", "stop day-dreaming", or "get your head out of the clouds." All valid from an exterior perspective. But what happens if that dream became a lived reality? What would that feel like? Most importantly, why shouldn't you live your passion exactly as you believed it possible in the first place? No one can do what you do. We need dreamers to inspire others to believe. We've touched the moon, traveled the expanse of the land, peered into the universe, discovered the atom and designed wonders that astonish the minds of scholars to this very day. If none of those people had dreamed, we would live in a world filled with nothing but mediocrity. Dream big, because mediocrity is the death of legendary.

Your energy is precious.
I wanted to share a recent experience I had. I reached out to an old friend to see how he and his family are doing. He responded in a way that really caught me off guard. Apparently him and his wife are really good friends with my ex wife and he said basically that I owed my ex and how she is struggling financially. Mind you I went above and beyond and gave her every single penny I had until I had no more and she was travelling and having fun. Now the old me who popped up for a little wanted to prove a point and say this is complete bs and you have no idea what you are talking about and on and on. I realized this was not going to serve me (after a call with Joanne and some reflection) and I decided to end the relationship and not give it more of my energy. Please protect your peace and energy at all costs, refill your cup first for your life with raised forward action and amplify your awareness of self. We are all human and life shows up in many different ways and how we respond is everything. Thank you for reading this. I hope it helps you reflect so you can save your precious energy.

Proud of your growth. Thank you for your vulnerability to share your struggles with us as well and showing us that we are all humans and we all suffer, even the ones that seem to have it all dialed in. ✨
You're Still Here (dream)
So I wanted to share this dream I had that made me realize that no matter how much life can be a battle, you're still here. I was kneeling, crying in a pitch black room. A door opened and a glowing figure appeared. He was so bright but yet it didn't hurt my eyes to look at. He walked over to me, kneeled down, grabbed my hand and whispered, "Let me show you something." Suddenly this huge rush of cool rain smelling air surrounded us and we teleported to an auditorium. A spotlight shined down on the center stage. My 7 year old self came walking out with God behind her. She stood there for a minute, smiled at me and said, "Marissa, we have been through so much together. We've cried so many tears, we've almost surrendered so many times and yet you're still here. We fought so many battles all alone without anyone caring and yet you're still here. Please don't give up because I love you and I'm so proud of who you are today. You have a very special circle of friends that truly love you and appreciate everything you do. That's something you finally have and have always wanted for the longest time. You're still here, always remember that." The spotlight slowly dimmed as my 7 year old self and God slowly vanished.

My perspective on perspective.
As I depart from Colorado on my bus, I have roughly 21 hours of time to reflect and absorb the entirety of the last week. There are so many things to be said, and I will be as brief as possible. A megalithic thank you to my friends @Cary Schram - @Marissa F. - @Joanne Landrau & @Brandon Rearick . What a significant group of humble, kind and compassionate people with hearts of pure gold! I owe all of you an insurmountable amount of gratitude for the hospitality and time spent talking to me, and sharing your amazing life with me for a few days. I am extremely proud of each of you! This week was a testament to the power of positivity, patience, self-worth, consistency and, (what I learned the most of) perspective. 21 hours on a bus was rough, but after arriving in Denver and seeing Cary's smiling face overflowing with happiness and joy, he helped me appreciate the experience even more. Although I lost my phone three days before I had to leave and lost the gemstone out of a ring I bought as a keepsake for the trip, I am profoundly proud of the way I reacted. I stayed positive, I put in maximum effort to find it, and learned that at some point, I had to pivot and purchase the new phone. I was only mildly irritated, not livid or become aggressively critical and disappointed in myself. Losing the gemstone did get me choked up a little bit, but I realized quickly that being mad or upset did nothing except make me feel horrible. That is huge. Through perspective, I realized how this is a pattern for me. I then somehow came to my senses. "What if I put my phone away in a pocket with a zipper the moment I stopped using it? What if before I leave or go anywhere, I check for my phone, keys and wallet? What if I only wear my favorite ring for special occasions?" I feel like the answers were always there, I had just always threw in the towel before I gave myself the chance to throw in the perspective.
