Help! Aphids in cool weather
In different areas of my yard this morning, I noticed some aphids on two plants — a flowering succulent and some sorrel (curling leaves was the clue). Both plants are in containers. I searched here in the group for some ideas in dealing with them, and was reminded by @Dennis Wichter that aphids are one of the first signs of soil issues. ☹️ And because it’s late fall, I don’t think lady bugs are a viable solution rn. Please share your best ideas on how to get rid of these plant suckers. ❓Could it be all the rain we’ve had? ❓ Is this a case for LAB or BT spray, or worm castings extract? ❓ Should I use a diluted dish soap:water solution?

Where’s the produce section?
After a season or two of growing with TLS Community here, I can confidently say that I shop the grocery store’s produce section way differently now than I did before. And that is a huge realization and comment on this group’s patience, teachings, and skill sharing. I’ve always appreciated how hard it is to grow fruits and veggies and herbs and greens, and how delicate they are, but now I have first-hand experience and *really* get it. Prices at the grocery reflect the materials and labor of growing and harvesting — and transporting to a store near us for ultimate convenience. Now I get a huge kick just walking by a lot of items in the produce section because I grow it myself and don’t need to buy them!! Maybe not every trip to the store, but enough to see a difference. That’s SO F’N COOL!! 😎 I’m no longer buying jalepeños or green bell peppers and some lettuces. This summer it was cucumbers. Plus, all those turkey day herbs they’re selling a tiny amount of for big bucks? I’m so covered! 🥳🤩🤯😂😍💚💚
