😡 ZERO Tolerance for Scams, Spam and Fake Accounts
Hi all, I just received notice that a fake "me" is emailing members. I apologize for any scammy messages you may have received. My official statement on fake accounts and scamming is: #1. I Will NEVER send you a DM to 'sell' you something or 'offer to buy' anything from you. If I did want to sell you something it will most likely be a publicly made offering (like an online class for example). I will NEVER ask to "buy your work" or '"connect with you a gallery". #2. Admins, Mods and members ARE NOT encouraged to send DMs selling or offering anything without first being invited. So, if you do receive a DM from a 'fake me' (or anyone) offering you something and it sounds scammy at all, IT IS NOT ME! Please ignore and report to our admins. #2. ANY and ALL scam posts, scam accounts, scam or spam DMS will be quickly deleted and banned for life. Our admin team is working hard to screen for scammers and bots. Thank you for acting so quickly here.

Got this message yesterday, I have blocked and reported.
Finally!
I wanted to ask whether anyone else out there can spend day after day drawing horrible faces before something you are pleased with finally appears on the paper. I think I've ripped up more pages this week than I have in the last 4 years ( not something I do really) - until at last I managed to draw this one. ❤️ I'm trying to stay positive and be "interested" in how I can be so inconsistent all of a sudden - and am keen to hear how other folk manage to get through a patch like this.
Finally!

I find the frustration is really helpful, the more you get annoyed the more questions you ask yourself ‘what went wrong’, then as you answer them, you start to recognise them in the next drawing and course correct as you go :) I have been thinking a lot about this lately - that’s why I really like this place for people being honest and sharing breakthroughs as they occur.

@Jo Sheridan well you did a great job on this one :) better than I could do. Sometimes just noticing a past mistakes or seeing a simple lesson really stays with you. Like the first lesson I learnt with drawing was the eyes are half way down the head - what a revelation! It’s so funny how simple things go unnoticed. I know the ‘rules’ are guidelines but they help me spot funny errors I have made like putting a jaw ending behind the ear 😂

@Ellen Conrad that’s great advice! And this is much better - I do the same thing always post my duds - which apparently you shouldn’t, but I see it as a good record of the journey.
Sanguine
So I thought I would say some things about sanguine and how I made this. I used a conte pencil. I tried others but they usually break very easily. And a paper stump. Canson mi teintes. For bigger work you can use a derwent chunky in sanguine. Sanguine is one of my favorite ways to draw. It smudges easily and can get pretty intense. And as I am writing this facebook banned me again for absolutely nothing. Great.

The drawing is amazing! Like so flipping awesome :) I don’t think a lot of social media is good for sharing art - glad I found this group it’s great to see such positivity and support in one place.

@Daniel Juric yeah completely agree it’s crazy what gets a free pass when artwork is somehow too much, I can’t even post on discord in the NMA figure drawing channel because Clyde the bot says no! lol well at least I saw your artwork and it’s awesome :)

I have never stuck at art long enough to get good, but I always come back to it. I have no desire to be a professional I just enjoy figure drawing.
