LinkedIn gives everyone a free trial and if you're actively applying it's worth activating just to take advantage of what's inside. I wouldn't tell anyone to pay for it, but the free month id take advantage of. Here's what's actually useful: 💰Salary insights — see salary ranges for roles before you apply or before you walk into an interview. Stops you underselling yourself when the question comes up. 📊 See how you compare to other applicants — shows you where you stand against everyone else who applied. Useful for knowing whether a role is realistic or whether you need to build out your profile more first. These first two are the most useful and if you’re taking my advice of 10 applications a day that you work hard on. This allows you to pick your applications wisely rather than guessing. 🗣️ Background slideshow — instead of one static banner image you can upload multiple images that rotate. Use it to show more about yourself, your work, projects you've been involved in. It makes your profile feel a lot more alive than most people's. 🔗 Add a link to your profile — Premium lets you put a clickable link at the top of your profile. Point it straight at your portfolio. Before a hiring manager even reads your CV they can click through and see your work. 📩 InMail credits — message hiring managers and recruiters directly without needing to be connected first. Activate the trial, use it for 30 days, and cancel before it charges you if you don't want to keep it. Has anyone here tried it? Would love to know how you found it 👇

Salary insights are really helpful for anyone starting out in their careers! Love the background slideshow idea, too, especially for creatives.
AI Tool That Could Help Your Learning or Job Search? 🤖
Morning everyone! I made a small AI tool here that @Callum McNulty brought up as a problem to me a couple weeks back. He mentioned that when applying for roles with a certain skill, for example paid ads. There would be some job posts for that skill that would use different terms to describe itself such as "media buyer", "facebook ads manager", or "paid ads specialist". Most people just search "Marketing roles" and assume this is all the roles available. However, if you're specific about the type of roles you want (which I recommend you are) then there will be different terms that your job can fall under. Take a look at this and if you can think of anything else that could be useful to your learning let me know and I can make it for the community! P.s. I'm not gatekeeping how to do this. I have it planned to make a claude lesson for the AI integration section. Claude updates its systems nearly everyday so I'm trying to make a video that isn't going to be outdated in 24 hours. https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/417ef74b-1aa0-4230-9d2d-a7fa9219b51a

Wow, fantastic tool! 🙌🏻 This will definitely be a great asset to job seekers.
LinkedIn Recommendations - Worth It? (I'm giving out recommendations)
Honestly, they're not the most important thing on your profile. They sit so far down the page that most recruiters never even scroll to them. BUT, having 3 or 4 does add a nice layer of credibility, and they take about 2 minutes to get. You can request one from literally anyone (through LinkedIn). A lecturer, a classmate, someone you did work experience with, a manager from a part-time job. They don't need to write an essay a few sentences does the job. 💡 If you're on LinkedIn Premium trial: you can pin a recommendation straight to your Featured section so it's one of the first things people see. That's where it actually gets noticed. 💡 The only time I've seen it make a big impact was someone had 40 recommendations and mentioned this in their headline. It was instantly impressive and made him very different. If we've had a video call together, drop a comment below or send me a message, I'm happy to write you one. Only rule is we need to have actually spoken on a call so I can write something genuine 🙌

Thank you for this reminder! Even as a person deep into a career, I haven't put enough focus on this. And I had no idea about the pinned rec in featured. I'm off to DM some people...
Let's Build Your Marketing Portfolio!
We've been talking about this a LOT in the group lately, so if you've been wondering what a marketing portfolio actually is and how to build one this is for you 👇 Your portfolio checklist: ✅ A short video intro from yourself ✅ 4–6 projects that highlight your key skills ✅ For each project — don't just tell them what you did, show them the impact you can bring💥 ✅ Show your personality & what you bring to the table And here's the Miro board for everything mapped out in writing The majority of you should be spending your time improving your portfolio with mock campaigns as talked about yesterday
