Salt & Light Study Series Matthew 5-7
Sisters! We missed you tonight, but no worries, here is the replay. Tonight, we had an overview of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and who the sermon was for. We briefly covered Matthew 1-4, and we broke down our first verses in the study, Matthew 5:1-2; the posture of a disciple vs the posture of the crowd. Discipleship begins with proximity sis. You can't follow from a distance. You can't hear or see in the back. Get intimate with Him! Get up there to the front, to the feet of Jesus, so you can hear Him clearly! Reflection question: What does coming closer to Jesus look like in this season of my life? Homework: Read Matthew chapters 1-4, chapter 5:1-2 to catch up, then Matthew 5:3-12 for our study next month on March 24th at 7pm. I'm working on something special that I pray you will find helpful and useful that will include the schedule for the entire year. I'll have that to you by the end of the week. I love y'all, Shavonne ๐Ÿงก

Galentineโ€™s Dinner
Good morning ladies! I went to bed smiling and woke up smiling this morning. God is so good! Thank you all for coming out to fellowship with us last night. We pray you were blessed by our time together. Weโ€™re elated to let you know that we surpassed our goal by 106%! Our Father not only provided what we needed, He blessed us with overflow! Your donations will go towards our 501(c)3 application which Chivon and I are currently working on, and towards hosting you ladies each month. Please share something from last night that is still on your heart โค๏ธ

Morning Pour โ˜•๏ธ
Good morning, my sisters! Psalm 1:1-3 (CSB) says, "How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! 2 Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers." This CSB version uses the word "happy". Other translations use "blessed." To be blessed by God is to be happy! A blessed person doesn't WALK in the advice of the wicked. Our WALK is how we live. Are you taking advice from people who have no regard for God's view on life? Furthermore, are you standing in the pathway with sinners? Sis, a blessed and happy person, doesn't surround themselves with people who will influence them to sin and ultimately turn them away from God. It matters who you allow to have access to you! Think about your circle. What needs to change? Instead, delight in the Lord's instruction, and meditate on it day and night. Delight means to find joy and pleasure in something. The Lord's instruction is His Word! This doesn't mean that you need to be in your Bible from sunup to sundown, but meditate on His Word. Recall that Scripture the Lord keeps placing in your heart, and think about it. Allow it to apply to the situation that you're currently going through, good or bad. A blessed person is like a tree planted beside flowing streams. Think about trees like the acacia, willow, and other fruit-bearing trees. If you have time, look up the acacia tree. Its roots are so strong and deep! These trees hold their ground, and regardless of a drought, they are positioned to drink from a continuous source of life. The fruit a tree bears reveals the quality of the tree! Keep in mind the fruit we bear isn't for us, it's for other people. Sister, being blessed/happy doesn't mean we won't go through trials in life. But because we are rooted in Jesus Christ, and He is our foundation, that means our leaves will not wither. I know I'm blessed because of how I handle the negative things that once would've caused me to go into a depression, or to crash out. But glory to God for that we are a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come (1 Corinthians 5:17).
