High or low?
Designing a kitchen for clients atm (I have designed the whole house on a green field house - under construction as we speak) Client has asked can the tall unit be lowered to the same height as the eye level oven? Whats the correct response? (I know, just checking with members......!)

I think if this was lowered to the same height as the oven it would expose the top of the cupboards and look a bit odd. My suggestion would be to split the cupboards and create a line level with the oven. This might work. Can I ask why your client wants to lower the cupboard?

That’s so lovely, wish I had a home near that idyllic location 😎
Happy places
Our homes affect us far more deeply than most people realise. Light, layout, colour, texture and connection to nature all quietly shape how we feel every day — our mood, stress levels, comfort and sense of wellbeing. This was central to my own training when I graduated in Environmental Design, studying the relationship between people and the spaces they live in. Good interiors are not just about appearance. They have the power to support, calm and uplift us. What is one space in your home that makes you feel genuinely good when you walk into it?

WC - The tech side & ageing in place.
I resolved Fiona's post below re a new WC under the stairs. The final image is an AI render, which of course has its uses but I would never rely on just AI. In fact if you look closely you can actually see how the new door to the WC is not tall enough (despite many trys) but prior to that I created a 3D model in Sketchup just to be sure that everything worked ok. In actual fact that WC would have relatively generous proportions V the minimum requirements. Just be aware that building contractors have to comply with building regulations so always double check! Another point to consider for us all making these changes is retaining a full sized shower/bath room on the ground floor of your home is very wise if you intend to stay there for lots of years - this principle 'Ageing in Place' is one I believe is very important & will keep in mind regardless what age a client is. Below is a very loooong video of the creation of the 3D model & a screenshot showing the relevant dimensions (& a nice man showing the scale 🧔‍♂️) & the final image. Feel free to ask questions or comments. x Eily
