What are you working on this week?
Hey everyone! Hope you had a good weekend. What are you all practicing this week? I am actually not practicing anything as I am enjoying a little break from concerts until November! In a few weeks I will be recording new videos of pieces I commissioned and releasing one each week over about the course of 2-3 months. So I am enjoying a little break and then will come back fresh with renewed enthusiasm and inspiration for the recordings 😊 Do any of you ever take scheduled breaks ?

@Blaise Laflamme I try to make sure most of my published pieces are playable on both. My attitude to extended range guitar is probably similar to Mertz, Coste and others who make the extra low basses optional, since that's how I use them and because there are so few extended range players. One big advantage of 7+ strings is having both E and D available, making fingering easier at times. So I will publish some pieces for 6 string guitar with dropped D but play the D on the 7th myself.

Classical guitar in Edinburgh
I just joined this group and in an amazing coincidence I can see that one of the founders was performing at the Fringe Festival? Sorry I arrived too late to go to that. I'm actually here now for another few days, is there an active guitar scene here in Edinburgh?

What set of strings are you playing now?
I don't want to start a string debate 😅, just know what set of strings is on your guitar right now! I'm actually playing, since yesterday, a set of Augustine Imperial Medium Red.

The Old White Owl by Daniel Oman
Following up on @Stewart Kelly about playing living composers and not necessarily complicated music, a few months ago I discovered Daniel Oman, published by Bergmann, who has beautiful writing at the intermediate level... and I also had a new pair of microphones to try! 😅
