Hi All - I have added a new category called "Monthly Focus Photo" - please can you add ONLY the photo for the monthly project to this category and include the relevant month in the title. If you have already posted your September photo there is NO need to do anything we are only a small group at the moment so I will deal with it. Secondly I have changed the monthly call time to the first Tuesday at 7;30pm - sorry for messing your all around but just tweaking things to make it better as the group grows.

A decaying barn soaking up a brief glimpse of sunshine

This shot was taken back in April from a beach on The Mull Of Kintyre. If you had seen me trying to compose the photo you might have laughed. I was back and forth, left and right, higher and lower trying to find a pleasing composition of the rocks as well as positioning the sun. I was also trying to avoid wet feet from the advancing waves. I finally settled on this. It’s always a compromise. Some photographers might comment on the bright reflection right at the bottom of the frame. Personally I find it rather pretty. So, does this image portray a quiet calm mood? F/14, 4mins with ND filter, ISO100, 43mm.

Nothing terribly serious here. This is just me trying to create a fun image using a sculpture during an “open garden” day. I had to crouch on wet grass to get the sun positioned. It’s more about me trying to find compositional opportunities within a scene…

Several of you have mentioned that you won't be able to join the call. I was wondering if this is because the timing is inconvenient or it is something you would rather watch as a recording at your own convenience? The current plan for the call is an hour, image review, editing trining if time allows and Q&A, once a month. Please could you review the timing and options below and vote for your preferred choice. I have kept the options below to UK evenings and one Sunday slot. Vote for the one that suits you best but if you prefer a time I have not mentioned please put it in the comments
