A couple of changes.
Hi All - I have added a new category called "Monthly Focus Photo" - please can you add ONLY the photo for the monthly project to this category and include the relevant month in the title. If you have already posted your September photo there is NO need to do anything we are only a small group at the moment so I will deal with it. Secondly I have changed the monthly call time to the first Tuesday at 7;30pm - sorry for messing your all around but just tweaking things to make it better as the group grows.
September - Returning
Some of you may have seen this as one already in one of my Youtube videos but this is my photo for the September focus project. The photographer I chose is Fay Godwin. I called it returning for two reasons one is: the light draws you through the frame to give you a sense of looking back. The second reason is: this is an old sluice from a 19th Century gunpowder works and it is slowly being reclaimed back by nature. I will discuss this in the call on 6th October and give you some background on Fay Godwin.

Monthly call time
Several of you have mentioned that you won't be able to join the call. I was wondering if this is because the timing is inconvenient or it is something you would rather watch as a recording at your own convenience? The current plan for the call is an hour, image review, editing trining if time allows and Q&A, once a month. Please could you review the timing and options below and vote for your preferred choice. I have kept the options below to UK evenings and one Sunday slot. Vote for the one that suits you best but if you prefer a time I have not mentioned please put it in the comments

Thank you all for your feedback. I am going to switch the call to the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm
Stones at A’Chleit
This shot was taken back in April from a beach on The Mull Of Kintyre. If you had seen me trying to compose the photo you might have laughed. I was back and forth, left and right, higher and lower trying to find a pleasing composition of the rocks as well as positioning the sun. I was also trying to avoid wet feet from the advancing waves. I finally settled on this. It’s always a compromise. Some photographers might comment on the bright reflection right at the bottom of the frame. Personally I find it rather pretty. So, does this image portray a quiet calm mood? F/14, 4mins with ND filter, ISO100, 43mm.

I think you captured a clam mood very well Colin. I don't think the bright reflection is an issue as it leads you into the frame.

@Colin Barr yes definitely - but it also highlights how useful it is to get a second pair of eyes to look at your work. I think we are all guilty of becoming our own worst critic.

@Roger Hinchliffe Thanks Roger - not sure if you are aware but you can see a bigger image by clicking on it and it should open to a larger version(altough I only posted quite a small version). I deliberately kept it square because I wanted the decaying barn to be the subject - there were some distracting element in the left and right of the frame as you can see in the original soc shot. I have also attached a bigger version of the edited photo

@Colin Barr thank you, I think I burnt in that streak slightly to help.
