Is okay to open Amazon usa 🇺🇸 account while living in 🇨🇦?

Hello everyone!! I’m new and can’t wait to start :)

Taking the first step by opening my Amazon seller account today. Before I do I’m trying to find out why I can’t start with the type that charges $0.99 per product. It wants me to pay the $40 professional fee. Hmm… wish me luck? 😅
