I hate my basic. It feels always awkward no matter how many times i step it. My upper body feels disconnected from my lower, my arms feel disconnected from my torso, my hips feel locked and I'm never sure what angle to face at what times. When I dance chacha, my basic feels good. The faster the song, the less grounded i feel. Watching these videos back, I feel that my step forward absorbs into the floor, rather than pushing off of it. Which in turn, makes me a little bit behind the beat. Going forward, I'll focus on making the 2 sharp and really try to push off the floor. In addition to that, i really tried to continue my movement through the entire step like Ashley said to do, which was challenging. Especially on the slower song 😅 For 2026, I will be focusing hard on following through body movement and building more stamina in order to keep my basic consistently grounded.
