Basics & Frame
From today's class at Mambolab! All I kept thinking was to hold a baby πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I also tried to sit back in my 67 more. Something I noticed here is compared to our instructor Noelia (in front), I didn't change the direction of my torso in many of the moves, especially the pachanga. Which Elian is constantly saying to do and this is the first video that I'm really seeing the importance of that.

Day 2 - No Shame Challenge
I learned from my Day 1 video that I was stepping my 6 next to my 5 rather than behind it. This was recorded before I read day 3 instructions… and I was definitely thinking too much and taking big steps here πŸ˜‚πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I like when the 5 and 6 are next to each other! I think its just a style preference πŸ’•
Challenge Day 3
I was thinking about this challenge all day yesterday and I realized that I wasn't fully transferring my weight on the 67; I was teetering in the middle. This was making me a little behind the beat but also, it wasn't allowing me to reset and dig into the ground again. So I tried to keep that in mind, even to fully lift my left foot off the ground on 6. And it seemed to really help! The basic feels better than 2 days ago. After watching this back, one thing I noticed was that I wasn't always holding my hands like a baby ( @Ashley Rivera always says to do this in class and now I finally see why: because it allows your arms to go a little out to the side, which is better for balance and frame. And it looks better.)

@Brianna Youssef I meant to say hold your hands like you are holding a baby πŸ˜‚ And thank you girl omgπŸ₯ΉπŸ’•

@Brianna Youssef as if you were to cradle a baby, and move them side to side. Just to start out as a general frame, thats what she always says in class πŸ₯°
Day 3 of the challenge
This tiny piece of floor is a bit slippery but I did my best. Please identify what I do well and my areas for improvement. Song: "Me voy de aquΓ" JosΓ© Lugo Orchestra

I feel like in 2 days your confidence went πŸ“ˆπŸ“ˆπŸ˜² your frame seems really strong, it doesn't collapse when you do moves (im trying to work on that).

Hey guys! I wanted to start posting on here to share the things that I'm trying to improve and where I'm starting from. I took a *small* part of Elian's choreo from this past week and am focusing on 1. Not keeping my neck/head so stiff 2. Posture 3. Arm movement fluidity 4. Smiling 5. Being tighter in my movements 6. My stamina Things that I don't like in the video are: 1. My transitions are rigid 2. My levels change a lot 3. My shimmy is weak and I should use my arms more in it rather than keep them stiff I'll keep posting new insights and things that i see and don't like so we can learn together.

@Ashley Rivera I never responded to this but thank you a million times over, I screenshotted this, and have started to break it down little by little. So much valuable info I feel like you just gave me the salsa Bible πŸ˜‚πŸ₯ΉπŸ™πŸ½
