How did you start dancing? ๐Ÿ‘€
Most people think they started because they โ€œliked music.โ€ Thatโ€™s not true. You started because something inside you wanted more: - More confidence - More movement - More connection - More expression For some of you, it was a party where you felt uncomfortable. For others, it was a video that inspired you.Maybe it was boredom.Maybe it was curiosity. But hereโ€™s the real question: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Why did you REALLY decide to start? Take a second and think about it. Was it: - To feel less shy? - To challenge yourself? - To be more social? - To finally try something you kept postponing? Drop your answer below. Understanding why you started is important โ€” because thatโ€™s what will keep you going when motivation drops. Remember:You didnโ€™t join just to learn steps. You joined to become someone who dances. Letโ€™s hear your story ๐Ÿ‘‡

Before 2022 I never even knew salsa existed. During this time, I saw a video of people dancing in the street in Cuba and I was just like "I need to do this for the rest of my life" and that was that ๐Ÿ˜‚. I booked a class the same week and havent left since. I cherish it everyday. And am so grateful for each new gift that it surprises me with; confidence, a source of connection with others, exercise for the mind and body but most importantly, to help me reconnect with my body and heal it from all that its had to endure in my upbringing.

Honest Question๐Ÿ“
Honest question. Have you ever felt like you know the stepsโ€ฆ but something still feels small in your dancing? Not wrong. Justโ€ฆ small. Curious if anyone else feels that.

@Kellye Hawkins I get it 100% that's such a good point to make. I find myself twisting and ducking to make the leads comfortable (I am tall) And it doesn't feel like you're putting it all out there on the dance floor having a good time, more like your dipping and dodging everyone.

Basics & Frame
From today's class at Mambolab! All I kept thinking was to hold a baby ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I also tried to sit back in my 67 more. Something I noticed here is compared to our instructor Noelia (in front), I didn't change the direction of my torso in many of the moves, especially the pachanga. Which Elian is constantly saying to do and this is the first video that I'm really seeing the importance of that.

Day 2 - No Shame Challenge
I learned from my Day 1 video that I was stepping my 6 next to my 5 rather than behind it. This was recorded before I read day 3 instructionsโ€ฆ and I was definitely thinking too much and taking big steps here ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
