I just had a friend from high school (i'm almost 70) pass away. I knew Dave in high school, and he helped me on the baseball team, he was there when I needed him. He was Mr. 3 sports and excelled at them all. I also worked with his mom, a cashier at the local grocery store where I had my first real job. She was good and fast and if you could keep up with her, you were then considered accomplished at your task of bag boy! I met Dave later on when we both worked at the same company - I was his boss for a short while, but he was a friend and a colleague and there when we needed him. Then later on we shared spotlight in helping the 50th high school reunion committee get arrangements made, and we pulled off a reunion still being spoke about today. So why do I say all of this now, yes - I miss my friend Dave, but its more than that for he taught me a lesson and one that I have heard echoed here a time or two. That is - Show up, Be genuine and Add value. That is how I will choose to remember my friend Dave, and that is how we should all approach this business. May you all have a great evening!
