That was epic! It was great having you with us for the 1-Day Production Challenge... but it's not over yet. In case you missed it, we're doing something super special for you guys. While we love doing these challenges, everyone knows that developing a consistent process for creating industry-standard music takes more than just a few hours... Which is why we developed our 29-week mentorship and education program called The Reverse Engineer™. This program completely overhauls your production process by teaching production in reverse — we start with mastering, then mixing, then we tackle the creative components of production. Learning production this way expedites your understanding of what "industry-standard" music actually consists of, and gives you the tools to finally achieve the sound you have in your head. And for students of the 1-Day Production Challenge Challenge, we're offering a special bundle so we can continue to work with you. Here's what's happening: If you join The Reverse Engineer before the end of the month, you'll get access to Producing for Income™ for free (usually $1,500). What is Producing For Income? It's a completely separate 8-week course that takes the skills you developed during The Reverse Engineer... And shows you how to stand out and consistently get clients as a music producer — with the goal of transitioning into a full-time career as a producer. Or, you can use freelance producing as a way to support yourself while you develop your career as a recording artist. This program is hosted by Daniel Grimmett of Dark Label Music, and we have guest residencies every other month from heavyweights in the industry, who host our group coaching calls. Our February resident is multi-platinum producer, Aaron Ferrucci. "UK-based, multi-platinum producer-songwriter Aaron Ferrucci's catalog has garnered over 300 Million streams and is growing everyday as both legendary and emerging artists seek out his talent. Aaron's catalog includes songs with: Disney’s Marvel, Ali Gatie, KSI, Future, 21 Savage, Rich The Kid, Conor Maynard, Celina Sharma, Emiway Bantai, Nana Rogues (producer for Drake), and many more. Aaron is a multi-instrumentalist who’s classically and jazz trained. His work crosses several genres, landing him various No 1s in multiple territories."

Need Help identifying an instrument
(3) Fleetwood Mac - Landslide (Cover) w/ Sierra Eagleson - YouTube Hello everyone! Im curious if anyone can help me identify a sound from this video that i just cant stop thinking about. Its introduced in this song at about 2:45 and I believe it can be visually seen played at 2:46. My googling skills isn't good enough to find the answer myself.. I tried googling an Electric Stringed Instrument that is played on ones lap or table and has a whale like ambience of a sound.. Good thing i kno that you all are smarter than Google and I.. Thanks in advance.

Whoa, might even be able to emulate it on a violin or piano or... Man, thanks a billion.. the inspiration is lowing again.. Thank you.

@Jane Scott As bold as some Franks Hot sauce huh lol.. I do appreciate your post and hope you do enjoy the listed tracks. Im not a musician but I do own an electric Pbass, a 6 string electric Gibson and a glass slide so i do understand the zeal and accomplishment in playing an actual stringed instrument. I just was curious to that particular sound and was willing to learn and acquire that particular instrument if it was indeed a sound inherent to it. But thanks to you and Andy Laird, I now know the instrument and that the sound is actually built up using effect pedals and what not. So guess what I did lol.. That first link i sent you, the one with just the song... Well i went ahead and purchased it. and in doing so, it had a section that allowed me to message the author. So i did asking bout how to make that sound lol.. fingers cross on a response tho lol..
Post Prep Mix of last months Fix the Mix song
I applied what I learned in the sessions to the song from the previous session. Here's the post-prep mix. Volume only. Tuned the vocals (because I HAD to), gain-staged, put just a basic rev only on vocals to make it a little more listenable, then bounced the static mix. I've also included a picture of my studio - you can see some of the treatment I did on the ceiling (made from old Cubicle walls and hung at angles and away from the ceiling) and corner traps (homemade). Then put laminate down in the middle of the room for some reflectivity. I use the room for recording and mixing so had to come up with something for both. Let me know what you think.

That track is pretty awesome.. To me, it kinda weirdly resembles (vocally) Bruce Springsteen's - Dancing in the dark. And Compsition wise, something like a mellowed down The Killers - boy track. Cant believe i found myself listening to it on repeat. I wish i would have seen it live :(. Do u have the original version i can compare it to?

my track from random emotion generator
hi all, a little late but here is my track for the action item from the fix the mix the other day. the random emotion generator gave me 'shock' so i produced a track similar to ghost mane or suicideboys to convey alertness/crazy. it sounds like it swears but it doesn't btw. please give me some feedback y'all! i have not done many songs before. i'd love to hear what you think 🤖 https://soundcloud.com/godzi_g/conspiracies?si=4f66e47d68404218b748d348cb317437&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Hey, Didnt want your post to go untouched so i took a listen. You tagged it as trap but is it? Great mix on it.. i loved how minimalistic it was and how very clean it sounded. The tone to me resemble trap with the dark vibes. Its very interesting.
