Keeping motivated
What are some tricks and tips that you use to keep yourself motivated to keep playing your guitar?

@Connor McTighe same! I play and play and play but the trick I use is I don’t focus on the same chords or the song. I will play one my songs I wrote 2-3 times and then go to a new song and repeat. That’s been the only way that I have found to keep focused on practicing. I also don’t get hyper fixated if a mess a chord up, just make a mental note and keep going.

Maintenance
When it’s maintenance time what’s your preference? Luthier do all the repairs/maintenance or do you diy it? I prefer the luthier to a lot of the stuff but I’ll restring/tune my own bass.
Confidence
What are some tips and tricks for beginners to gain confidence in their playing? For me I used to throw it to the wind and play at the public park, venues that allowed and let people know I was a beginner, etc. It was scary an nerve wracking but it helped build confidence and even when mistakes were made I kept going.

@Bill Curd definitely great advice. Not to much at all imo
Hand warm ups?
Due to my recent injuries in my hands from the auto accident, I’ve been wondering what do all of you do to loosen up strengthen and work with your hands or fingers when you’re not playing guitar to make them better? Give me some ideas of things I can do to help restrengthen my fingers. I tried playing three songs today and they hurt worse than I’ve ever experienced playing guitar!

I do stretches as well but the other thing I do is use the Jing Lu balls (the ones that you spin in one hand and they vibrate as you spin them). Using them has helped a lot over all as they help stretch my fingers when spinning them around but also making my hand be open with the width of them both.
