Can You Inject Mounjaro Straight From the Fridge?
Yes, you can inject Mounjaro cold straight from the fridge, but I personally find that it stings more when it is cold. I keep my Mounjaro in the fridge, so before each injection I take it out for around 30 minutes and allow it to come up to room temperature. I find it much more comfortable that way. The important thing to remember is that once the pen reaches room temperature for the first time, you then have 30 days to use it. From that point, it can stay in a cupboard or press. It does not need to remain cold. Just keep it out of direct sunlight and below 30°C. If you are spacing out your doses during maintenance, you need to take that 30-day window into account. You may either need to inject it cold or remove the amount you need using an insulin syringe. The same issue applies if you use the additional medication left in the pen after the four standard doses, often called the golden dose. Because the pen would then last around five weeks, the timing of when it first reaches room temperature matters. Using an insulin syringe or taking the additional medication left in the pen is outside the standard manufacturer instructions, so make sure you understand what you are doing and speak to your prescriber if you are unsure. For the normal four weekly injections, the pen does not need to stay in the fridge after the first dose. I still keep mine there because I know exactly where it is and I know it is being stored safely. Do you inject yours cold or leave it out for a while first?

@Mark Fearon absolutely not one bit thank god
Do you actually need supplements on Mounjaro?
My honest take is usually no. Not unless you have a deficiency, your doctor has told you to take something, or there is a clear reason behind it. I do use a few things myself, but I keep it very simple. I use protein powder because it helps me get enough protein in, especially on days where food volume is lower. I take creatine because I lift weights and I genuinely feel it helps with training and recovery. In the winter I’ll usually take vitamin D. And if I’ve had a long or hard training session I might use electrolytes. But that’s about it. I don’t think being on Mounjaro means you suddenly need a cupboard full of supplements. The basics matter far more. Enough calories. Enough protein. Enough fibre. Nutritious meals. Hydration. Some form of movement. A routine you can actually stick to. If you’re barely eating, supplements won’t fix that. And if you’re eating well, a lot of supplements are probably just money you don’t need to spend. This is why I always think food comes first. Then supplements can fill small gaps if needed. What do you take, if anything? Protein powder? Creatine? Vitamins? Electrolytes? Or nothing at all? And do you genuinely feel a benefit from them?

How I Hit 200g Protein Daily (While on Mounjaro)
My daily target is around 2,750 calories and 200g+ protein. This is what a typical day looks like for me. Nothing fancy, just consistent. Breakfast 499 kcal | 36g protein - Whey protein shake (30g scoop) - 220ml whole milk - 40g porridge oats - Blueberries - Raspberries - Banana Why this works: Easy to get down, high protein, and sets the tone early. Alternatives: - Greek yoghurt + granola + fruit - Protein overnight oats - Eggs on toast + side of fruit - Skyr yoghurt bowl Lunch 594 kcal | 57g protein - High protein tortilla wrap - Chicken breast slices - Light cream cheese - Sweetcorn - Tomato - Spinach - High protein ready made soup (chicken & veg) Why this works: High protein without feeling heavy. Easy to prep or grab on the go. Alternatives: - Chicken salad bowl with rice or potatoes - Tuna wrap or sandwich - Lean beef mince with rice - Turkey + avocado wrap - Protein pasta with chicken Dinner 731 kcal | 57g protein - Chicken breast fillets - Stir fry veg - Curry sauce - Rice Why this works: Big protein hit in the evening without being complicated. Alternatives: - Lean steak + potatoes + veg - Salmon + rice + greens - Turkey mince chilli - Chicken fajita bowl - Prawn stir fry Snacks ~758 kcal | 94g protein - Babybel cheese - Fulfil protein bar - Protein mousse - High protein yoghurt - Whey protein shake Why this works: This is where most people fall short. Snacks are an easy way to top up protein without forcing big meals. Alternatives: - Boiled eggs - Cottage cheese + fruit - Beef jerky - Protein puddings - Extra shakes if needed Daily Totals - Calories: 2,582 kcal (slightly under target) - Protein: 245g The Simple Strategy - Build every meal around protein - Add carbs and fats after - Use snacks to fill the gaps - Don’t rely on one big meal to hit your target On Mounjaro, appetite drops. That’s exactly why this matters. If you don’t plan it, you’ll under-eat protein without realising.
