Question About Cob (or other types of natural building)
I was doing some research on molds in homes after reading about someone I follow having mold in several spots in her home. My question is, do natural homes mold less? I know cob is made of earth, but I almost think it wouldn't have the issues out more modern homes do. Anyone who can answer? Anyone who has some speculations? I'd love to chat about this.

Christina – Architectural Designer | Land Steward | Regenerative Developer
Hey everyone! I’m excited to connect with others passionate about land stewardship, natural building, and regenerative development. I believe that when we take ownership of our land and build with intention, we create thriving, resilient communities that reflect both nature and our values. With over a decade in architectural design, I’ve worked extensively with bamboo, strawbale, and compressed earth blocks (CEBs), integrating passive strategies for high-performance, low-impact homes. I also spent nearly nine years managing a 10-acre off-grid property in Maui, where I built my own home, balanced agriculture and eco-tourism, and developed a profitable, land-based business. These experiences reinforced my belief that self-sufficient, sustainable living is not just possible—it’s essential. Lately, I’ve focused on passive design strategies, creating buildings that heat and cool themselves using 100% ambient energy. From fire-resilient homes in Colorado to large-scale agricultural master plans, I prioritize climate-specific materials, longevity, and economic foresight in all my projects. I’m here to share knowledge, collaborate, and help others create intentional, sustainable properties that support both people and the planet. Looking forward to learning and building together!
