I chose this guy because I love the color and really wanted to indulge in the complements of orange and blue. For the blue I used a wild color called Carribean Blue from Old Holland.

Congratulations and well deserved @Natasza Zurek . Such a beautiful painting. Love the layers of colours and lighting, and the transparent of layer of colour on top showing the detail and change of colour and lighting is mesmerising. My 9-year old daughter saw your painting and was wowed. She was instantly drawn in.
Halloween#2
"The Man who laughs" (1928) was at the tail end of the silent erra and the inspiration for the look of the Joker, the film is more drama and tragedy than horror but I thought I would include him in my series. Jumping right into the third one so keep a look out

Figure Drawing essentials- Shading the figure
Loads to take in but it is a brilliant 1.5hour lesson from @Chris Legaspi . I have plans to watch it again- watched it twice in this week. The main take away so far is no matter how much render I do, I cannot cover up bad foundations of the figure. It re-emphasises to me the importance of getting the foundations right before shading and rendering the figure. Awesome references too.

Very nice. Love line work. A good underlay and construction of figure helps with render placement. For me the construction and forms is super important to help draw and capture the figure realistically. For rendering have you tried the Notan method? It’s great for rendering the figure using shapes.

@Marv Z yes Notan is an abstract technique with your two values (black and white) only. It helps give a clear level of read as you're focusing on shape and not what you're drawing.
