Why kids struggle with being humble
Yesterday, I was encouraged by this mother's humility to apologize to her son. Because kids watch what we do, more than what we say. But you already know that. So this is just a reminder to be the good example you want them to follow 😊

This is a great example of humility as a parent. I love this video. I noticed when I started apologizing to my kids they started coming and apologizing to me. I apologize by explaining why I was wrong and what I could’ve done better.

Faith - Fear - Assumptions
Are they all the same thing? --- A mother is sitting at the table with her son doing homework and the son gets stuck on a math problem. They both know that mom is bad with math, so he grabs a calculator. But she see's this as cheating. She says, "put it down, you're not even trying." Now there's tension in the room. Not because using a calculator is cheating...a calculator is just a tool. Every professional uses tools. But the mom has made an assumption. Do you think this assumption is based on faith or fear? Does she have faith that her son will figure it out on his own? Or does she fear that he won't learn how to think? What do you think? How does faith & fear effect parenting?

Why Kids Lie...
Kids lie for many reasons...this short story explains one possible reason. Has your parents ever broken a promise to you? How did it effect your relationship with them?

Greetings, There are not many things I remember from my childhood. My parents have broken promises to me. I wouldn’t say it ruined our relationship maybe some trust was broken. I specifically remember my dad always saying “When you turn 18 I am going to take you to Disney world.” My dad never took me but I’m glad he didn’t take me now that I’m older and know the agenda behind Disney. Fake it until you make it? Or be real?
"A leader is always up...even when they're down"... That's what someone told me years ago when I was having a bad day. I still have mixed feelings about that statement, because it could be interpreted two different ways: . Be fake and act like everything is going great. . Don't let your negativity rub off on the group. How do you interpret it? This weekend my church had a big event in North Carolina... as president of the photography team, I feel bad for missing it. But I don't want my negative energy to rub off on the team, so I've thought about "faking it" until I feel better...but I hate being fake...and I'm starting to think that being real in this time of vulnerability would be a net positive for everybody involved. I'm sure the team photographed the event beautifully, and I'm grateful for that. --- Do you think this experience relates to parenting as a form of leadership? You ever feel yourself "faking it until you make it" so your kid won't see you down? Have you considered that being vulnerable with them would show them how to be vulnerable with you? Let me know in the comments.

My kids have seen me cry. I don’t usually give them the reason behind it because they are too young to understand. However, my kids are starting to tell me to “just take a deep breath momma” when they see me overwhelmed which has actually helped me! 😂
Peer Pressure
Fe - Extraverted Feeling is the topic of this video. ---TRANSCRIPT--- Greetings. This is my submission for Mastery Monday. I’m going to try to keep this below five minutes. So the topic is extroverted feeling. I recently dealt with a case—an ENFJ who was shoplifting because everybody else around them was shoplifting. Extroverted feeling is connected to empathy and social harmony. These people don’t like when others are upset with them. If they find out someone is mad at them, it really disturbs them. They’ll ask, “Are you mad at me?” They don’t want anyone to be upset with them. They are very susceptible to peer pressure, people-pleasing, being a doormat, and being passive. So if you have one of these children, you want to pay special attention to helping them not become doormats. Everyone should be mindful of peer pressure, but these types need extra attention. Let’s break this down. The ENFJ has extroverted feeling in the top slot. The ESFJ also has Fe in the top slot. The INFJ has it in the second slot, and the ISFJ also has it in the second slot. This ENFJ is the focus here because they are deeply connected to connection—which also relates to intimacy. If you have one of these four types of children, you want to consistently tell them “I love you.” Don’t assume they know. Everyone should express love to their kids, but for these children, it’s especially important. You also want to monitor their friendships closely. These children are more prone to people-pleasing. You’ve probably heard the saying: you become a product of the five people you spend the most time with. If they’re around five negative influences, there’s a high chance they become the sixth. So you want to guide them toward healthy friendships. At the same time, be careful not to hurt their feelings in a way that pushes them away. If that happens, they may begin to value their friends’ opinions more than yours. You don’t want their friends to hold more emotional influence or reverence than you do.

Greetings, I can relate to this as I am an ENFJ. I always worry if someone is mad at me. I was a people pleaser most of my life until I set boundaries when I was about age 25/26. I still have those tendencies. I still struggle with being a doormat at times. My daughter is an ENFJ so this sparks my attention for sure. I like these type of examples and short lessons. @Devin Trent
