Under 1 min Shameless birthday wish ask
Today I turn 35, and I try to use my birthday wish wisely. If you have benefitted from my content in the time since you found me, my shameless ask is to leave me a rating on my Spotify podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/00yIunwOpcCymvruv1FL7o?si=zss8OpXiTsOIp9W1kBZeyg Attached is the screen shot for the button to tap (3 dots near the top) It’s been a really fun project for me the past few years, I’m almost up to episode 100. Ratings could make a huge difference as I try to get my book proposal sold to a publisher this month! Thank you in advance if you accept my request. Thank you for your belief in me to teach invisible labor:)

DEC Challenge (2024-12-10) - VAN WYK's
Cognitive/Mental Load Lyn exerted today: - Lyn took the lead in a big food prep push today, ensuring our family has meals ready for the days ahead. - She brought our son along to her physiotherapy appointment, giving me time to tackle tasks around the house—a perfect example of balancing responsibilities. - On her way home, Lyn remembered we were out of milk and cream, saving an extra trip by stopping at the store. - Lyn messaged the grandparents about a house project they want to participate in, keeping everyone in the loop and organized.

Cognitive/Mental Load Lyn exerted today: - Lyn took the lead in organizing our family skating outing, from conception to execution, ensuring it was a fun and meaningful first experience on the ice for our son. She also planned the timing so we could transition smoothly to preschool afterward. - Lyn prepped Amazon return packages with labeled items, making it simple for me to complete the physical task of dropping them off. Her planning turned a potentially complicated task into a stress-free one. - Despite a busy day, Lyn made time to fulfill her responsibilities for the board she serves on, demonstrating her ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively. - After her board meeting, Lyn suggested a relaxing drive to view Christmas lights in our community, creating a calming and enjoyable way to wind down our evening as a family. - Kin Keeping Bonus: Lyn made sure to share updates about our son’s preschool with his grandparents, keeping them connected and informed.
OCT 28
- Managed the cognitive load of organizing a warranty call for our shower head, ensuring I had the necessary information ready to address the issue efficiently. - Took on the mental task of contacting the Employment Insurance/Pay Center to resolve parental leave issues ensuring our family's financial needs are met. - Coordinated some laundry work throughout the day to help alleviate a backlog. - Actively engaged in tidying the main floor, managing the cognitive load of organizing clutter and creating a welcoming space for our family while keeping track of where items belong.
OCT 27
- Engaging with Our Son: Held the 'Watching' card for a large part of the day, actively engaging with our son to give Lyn uninterrupted time to focus on other household responsibilities. - Fixing SUV Blower Motor: Addressed the needed repair on our SUV's blower motor resistor, planning and completing the installation efficiently to keep the vehicle ready for family use. - Refueling the SUV: Noted that the SUV was low on fuel and filled it up to ensure Lyn has a full tank for her use tomorrow. - Gathering Family Items: After our visit with the in-laws, I gathered all family items, making sure nothing was left behind and packing everything to make our transition home smooth.
