The Moss Stitch is made by repeating: Single Crochet, Chain 1, Skip 1 On the next row, you work your single crochet into the chain-1 spaces from the row below. Block 6: Moss Stitch Notes - Measure after Row 3. - Your block should be close to 8 inches wide before edging. - If it is too narrow, start over and add to your foundation chain. - If it is too wide, start over and reduce your foundation chain. - Staying within about 1/4 inch is fine. - Count your rows as you go. Foundation Ch 30 (or an even number, if you crochet loosely you may only need 28) Row 1 Sc in the 4th ch from hook, Sc, then Ch 1, Skip next ch, *Sc in next ch, ch 1, skip next Chain ; repeat from * across. Sc in turning chain space. Ch 2 and turn. Row 2 Sc in first Ch-1 space, Ch 1, Sk next Sc, *Sc in next Ch-1 sp; repeat from * across. Work 1 Sc in the space created by the turning chain at the end of the row. Ch 2 and turn. Rows 3 and Up Repeat Row 2 until your block measures approximately 8 inches tall.
