Reflections on my visibility challenge
I've been working on creating new projects in my work and it's come time that I knew I needed to focus on being more visible to bring aligned people into my world, so in April I started something I called a Gentle Visibility Challenge, which includes doing 1 act of visibility per work day. I wanted to take the idea of "being visible" and actually do an experiment that helped me to actually turn it into something I can actually do and take action on. Some have been little things (like commenting on a Substack post) and some have been bigger (like doing a video interview), but they have all added up. The biggest result has been experiencing growth and noticing the momentum it creates (from the very first week, actually immediately as I began doing these things!). My biggest takeaway has been making the idea of being visible into a practical thing I can actually do each day that feels easy enough to do. My biggest lesson has been in order to do these visibility acts (and keep doing them!) I've needed to really support myself and my nervous system, so I can keep doing them! If you're wanting to be more visibile I highly recommend coming up with your version of a visibility challenge to support you. PS. One of the things that has been helping me show up for my challenge is having an anchor song that I play when I do my visibility acts and it's currently the song Golden from the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack πŸ™Š

So glad this lesson resonated @Jacqueline Samm. It's something I think it's easy to forget about but has a huge impact on our ability to continually show up and be visible in our work. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing a flare up, take care. I hope the lesson can be supportive for you when you begin again!
The "Posting like it's 2015" results are in
Last week I shared an experiment @Chloe Wigan and I are testing about just posting actual still photos from our lives like we did back in 2015 Thought I'd share the results with you. Now, my observation is that the engagement was predominantly from my real life friends and business besties who I guess don't generally engage with my content but did with this and also love the concept. And this is also a reminder for us all that it costs nothing to engage with our friend's and business besties content either 😝 Have you tried it? Will you?

Love hearing about the results from your experiment @Katherine Mackenzie-Smith! My biggest takeaway from the experiment is how it felt for me to show up in this way which was fun and easy! A big part of the experiment for me is actually getting myself back into sharing on Instagram again and taking the overthinking out of it. I also love the connection my post brought into my world and it was fun having conversations with people in the comments and DMs about this concept. I've only done it once, so I don't have much results to go on so far and haven't shared anything else recently, but since my goal is to post more I think I have achieved that 🀣

@Katherine Mackenzie-Smith yes exactly! And when something is fun you're more likely to do it anyway!

Love this realisation @Sara Obando. I have started having two ways to record notes with me when I do my reflection sessions... I use my remarkable for my own personal reflections that I'm guiding people through and I use a real notebook and pen for my facilitation notes and reflections, which has really helped!
What I’m testing this week (visibility experiment #3)
This is so funny but it's from an ongoing conversation @Chloe Wigan and I have been having lately on Instagram. We decided last week we want to start posting like it's back in 2015 πŸ˜† We're also embracing a bit of extra whimsy and taking precious, mindful moments throughout the week to just *be* outside of business and life and everything going on in the world. Anyway, I did just that this morning, what a way to start the week - a fancy iced coffee and a sit in the sun by the water. Of course it's the most commented on post I think I've done in YEARS. Come on over and chekc it out. And a tiny side quest for you, if you choose to accept it πŸ‘‰ Post something unrelated to your business this week that is just you in real life. Then come back and share it with us ‡️

@Katherine Mackenzie-Smith yes love this! So important to have those little moments of joy and fun! No idea what I'm going to post... I'm just going to live my life then choose something from my camera roll πŸ™Š

@Katherine Mackenzie-Smith reporting back to share I did my first "posting like it's 2015" post and it was fun! I couldn't pick one photo so I went with a collage like we all used to love doing Insta.
