Some activities that we do are: 1. Sensei Says 2. Colour sprints (we say a colour they have to find something this colour, high 5 and run back) 3. Balance challenges 4. I'm thinking of a number (guessing game) 5. We have 4 main focus positions; we call out a number and it is a competition to get into that position the fastest 6. Quick fire questions (e.g. hands up if your fav colour is green, hands up if you like spiderman etc.) 7. Scissor paper rock splits (if it's an older class)
Week 1 Challenge Check in!
✅ WEEK 1 CHECK-IN – Lead Tomorrow Alright team, time to see how you all went with your Week 1 Challenge! You had 5 ways to step up and lead this week: 1️⃣ Lead a warm-up or drill in class 2️⃣ Greet students or parents with confidence 3️⃣ Support your instructor with setup or demonstrations 4️⃣ At work: lead a team task or present confidently 5️⃣ Anywhere: spark a positive conversation or help someone step up 💬 Drop your reply below and let us know: 1. What did you do? 2. How did it feel? 3. What did you learn about yourself? Remember, leadership grows when we put ourselves out there. Even the smallest action counts! Haven’t done yours yet? No stress, you’ve still got time to make it happen before Week 2 kicks off on Wednesday. Let’s finish strong! Let’s celebrate the wins and the lessons. 👊

I usually teach 3-6yrs or adults but rarely the age group in-between. To get out of my comfort zone and step up/ lead, my other instructor (brother) and I have switched one of our classes around, so that I am teaching the middle age group and he has a lesson teaching 3-6yrs old. I felt uncomfortable but if I come in with a plan for the class it eliminates stress (if you fail to plan, you plan to fail, good quote 👌). It was not as hard or intimidating as I thought it would be and if I come in confident, putting energy into the class the students will too, and we will both enjoy it. 5️⃣ Anywhere: spark a positive conversation or help someone step up ⬆️ I have also been trying to implement this in a few conversations this week and have had a lot of success. Students who I didn't realise would want to step up in certain situations have been very excited and open to being given the opportunity.
Awesome First Session + Your key take away
Hey team! What an incredible first session last night. Such a powerful way to kick things off! It was truly inspiring to have people from all across Australia and New Zealand come together. There were so many gems shared, but one key takeaway that really stuck with me was:“Always be willing to step outside your comfort zone.”It’s such a powerful reminder that the small, consistent actions we take each day are what create long-term transformation. I also really appreciated the honesty and authenticity from everyone who showed up. It made the session real, engaging, and impactful. What was your biggest takeaway? Let’s keep the momentum going!

Hey, I really enjoyed the first session. My main take away was "Get comfortable being uncomfortable", since I already am a instructor running classes and a Centre, I reflected on this quote more in what I think my weaknesses are and what areas of leadership make me feel nervous. My brother and I always use this quote, and I implement it in most of my life, just haven't a lot when it comes to being an instructor, as I feel comfortable in most aspects and those I don't, I never really have to do. In order to be comfortable in the situations that make me uncomfortable I need to just do them.

Hey Team, I am from IMC located in Gregory Hills. I am looking forward to leveling up my leadership program by putting into myself first/ improving as an instructor, that way I can help and support my other instructors in my Centre more efficiently and to do the same.
