Jewelry designers—real question.
How are you pricing your pieces? Are you pricing by: • materials only? • time + materials? • wholesale vs. retail margins? • intuition? • fear of being “too expensive”? I've been taught costs x3. When I looked at that I did not feel my labor costs should be x3 so I now do all costs x3 plus labor, then consider what the market will allow. Im also only 5years in and consider myself an intermediate metalsmith... even babysmith many days.
