🎃 It’s August… so obviously we’re talking about Christmas
I know it’s probably still 93 degrees outside (like it is here) and you’re currently questioning all your life choices for living anywhere south of Canada… but on Etsy? 🦃 We’re already talking about November. Why? Because Etsy shoppers are early birds with credit cards. 💳 So here’s your cheat sheet for what to design right now so you’re ahead of the game in October & November: 1. Halloween (Oct 31) - Yes, it’s close, but there’s still time for quick-turn digital items — think party printables, spooky seamless patterns, sublimation PNGs, tumbler wraps, etc. 2. Fall & Autumn Aesthetics - Cozy sweaters, pumpkins, crunchy leaves… these sell for months. 3. Thanksgiving (Nov 27) - Menus, printable decor, “Thankful” SVG and PNGs, fall food sublimations. 4. Friendsgiving - Trendy invites, charcuterie printables, game templates. Millennials eat this up (literally). 5. Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Oct) - Pink ribbon merch, survivor celebration PNGs, fundraiser-friendly designs. 6. Teacher Appreciation / Back-to-School Fall Wave - Cute fall classroom borders, printable worksheets, coffee mug designs for teachers who are already done with the semester. 7. Día de los Muertos (Nov 1–2) - Sugar skull sublimations, marigold patterns, vibrant folk art clipart. 8. Fall Weddings & Bridal Showers - Burgundy & burnt orange invite templates, “Fall in Love” signage. 9. Small Business Saturday (Nov 30) - Promo templates, printable shop signs, “Support Local” designs. 10. Christmas Prep (Early Bird) - It’s here whether you like it or not. Neutral holiday patterns, mug wraps, ornaments, planners for 2026. Here’s the deal — you can waste the next two months in design limbo, or you can ride the wave of early-bird shoppers and have Etsy cha-chinging for you while you’re eating pumpkin pie.🥧 Ways I Can Help You! Open source AI image generators
Hello everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday! Given what's happening to Kittl, I already got a MyDesigns Pro account and it's fine, but I also started doing a bit of investigative work on AI image generators that work for free and that hopefully don't share the images with other users. Below are a few I found: -- Gemini from Google - not great but sometimes comes up with surprising results -- Stablediffusionweb.com - pretty good, but you have to be super clear and concise as prompts must be under 500 characters. You get 10 credits per day, so you can generate 10 images. - Edit - there is a small watermark in the bottom right corner of every image with the URL of the website, so you'll have to crop the image or erase the watermark. -- huggingface.co/Jovie/MidJourney - this is a model based on Flux Dev but that generates images similar to what MidJourney would; it takes quite a long time to generate images, though, sometimes up to 10 mins -- huggingface.co/aleksa-codes/flux-ghibsky-illustration - technically it's for generating images in the style of Ghibsky (think Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, typical Japanese style anime illustrations but with a slight industrial air) but I've used it for all sorts and it works just fine -- https://huggingface.co/spaces/black-forest-labs/FLUX.1-schnell - exactly what it says, it's the Flux 1 schnell model. Please note that for the HuggingFace models you will have to create a free account - the only model that works without one us this last Schnell one. Of course, you will have to upscale these images in something afterwards, but I think they come in handy if you run out of credits 😄. And finally, I don't know if I am allowed to share this here, but there's a cool website called promptlibrary.org with prompts for MidJourney, which you can ofc adapt for any AI image generator you use.

The stack of books is surrounded by vibrant, luxurious deep purple roses, leaves, and other botanical elements. In the center, the text "morally grey" appears in a delicate yet bold script font evoking a sense of mystery and elegance.
