Western Bits
Hey! I am a rodeo competitor and would like to make that a focus of my eventual services. This certificate is wonderful and informative but I was wondering if there is any articles or blogs you'd recommend for the more western style bits eg, chain mouthpieces, twisted snaffles, locked snaffles, ect?

The same mechanics apply regardless of discipline - for example chain bits = Waterford action, twisted bits work on abrasion and tongue stimulation in the mouth, locked snaffles = less nutcracker action like the bombers lock up :) I have my own opinions on chain bits and twisted bits - especially square twisted or twisted wire bits. I believe there are much much better choices out there, it’s just some old school habitual choices and thinking. It is not something I will ever stock or recommend.
Bit collection for fit sessions
Hey guys! Regarding the case studies- do we need a sizable collection of bits to begin or are we just saying what we would recommend? I have a small collection but mainly snaffles/eggbutts so now looking at what I'd need to keep on hand when performing bit fitting sessions & case studies. Is there a list or general consensus of supplies & the range of bits we'd need in our "bit kit"?

@Chloe Anstee welcome!
Wish i knew then what i now know!
Just finished the mouthpieces module - such mixed emotions realising why some biting choices i have made worked so well for some horese and not others! I wish I had done this course earlier! I really hope this course is part of courses like the Bachelor of Equine Science (I did mine through CSU starting in 2004) as I feel it has added so much to what I knew... but as the how and why not just because someone with more experience said.

How good would that be! We have done a few talks at uni's etc in the past but i feel its such an important piece of the puzzle!
