Upping the teat flow
Just hoping for some advice. My daughter has had her tongue tie and there’s massive improvement. However she doesn’t have the strongest suck (as per osteopath findings) would it be something to consider in increasing the teat flow? Just wondered if that would help her as she doesn’t want to take more oz but at times struggled with fatigue around it

Hey, so why is the suck still weak and how long before it improves? You could try a faster flow, however some babies who are disorganised can’t handle more liquid in their mouth - so it’s really a suck it and see, as it were..
Tongue tie release 8 week old
Hello! Tongue tie snipped yesterday, finding it impossible to get under baby’s tongue to stretch the area! Any tips? He just wants to chomp on my fingers along his gum, making the recommended stretches impossible!

Hi there, have you tried touching the back of gums each side (where their back teeth will come in) and scooping under there rather than under from the front?
Watch this space for my new Parent’s Guide to Choosing Formula
Picking apart formula labels is exhausting - what’s a nucleotide, does palm oil actually matter, which ones are vegetarian? I’ve gone through every formula on the UK market right now and pulled it all into one guide. It’s £27 outside the community - yours free as part of your membership🫶

@Soraya Waldron hey, I’d say it’s worth trying something without FOS - typically Hipp or little steps so there’s less bits to react to x

Welcome to the Milkademy - start here
Hi, welcome to the Milkademy. I’m Charlotte - IBCLC, certified attachment coach, and author of Why Breastfeeding Matters. I’ve spent nearly two decades in clinical practice specialising in tongue tie, oral dysfunction, fascia, prematurity, and reflux - and in developing secure attachment in infancy and childhood, which shapes how we relate to others for the rest of our lives. My research summaries have been published by UNICEF Baby Friendly UK, and I’m the award-winning evidence based blogger behind Analytical Armadillo. I built the Milkademy because parents deserve better than what the system currently offers. Everything inside is evidence-based, clinically grounded, and written by me. Ask me anything on the message board. That’s what it’s there for.
