Pick your Discomfort
Change is one of the most difficult processes to engage in. "An object at rest stays at rest" - if something isn't moving it takes tremendous effort to begin the movement. Getting that initial momentum is difficult, but there are two options ahead of everyone: The discomfort of staying the same. The discomfort of taking new action. Both will be uncomfortable, but one leads upwards and one leads nowhere. If the sensation is going to be the same, doesn't it make more sense to choose the path that leads you upwards and to new horizons? This discomfort is a gift - it tells you that you're taking on a grand new challenge, embrace it.

Are you willing to be a Beginner again? 💭
Willingness is not a feeling. It is a decision to step into the friction. Because to change your behavior, you first have to be willing to feel the discomfort of a new pattern. Your brain loves what is familiar because familiar feels safe — even when it is no longer serving you or holding you back. True transformation begins when your desire for growth becomes stronger than your attachment to the safety of your current identity — including the roles, expectations, labels and patterns you have outgrown. It is choosing the discomfort of the new over the certainty of the old. It is being willing to feel awkward, uncertain, challenged and uncomfortable while your mind and body learn a new way of being. So the question is: Are you willing to be a beginner again until the new and real version of you becomes second nature? 🌱
