🇰🇷 Korean Skincare vs 🇺🇸 American Skincare Why I personally fell in love with K-Beauty as a licensed esthetician ✨
One of the biggest shifts in my skincare philosophy happened when I started studying Korean skincare systems more deeply. In my opinion, American skincare often focuses on “attacking” the problem: ❌ Dry it out ❌ Peel it off ❌ Burn it away ❌ Stronger acids ❌ More aggressive treatments And while there is a time and place for corrective treatments… I’ve seen so many people end up with compromised barriers, chronic inflammation, sensitivity, dehydration, and skin that is constantly stressed. Korean skincare tends to ask a different question: 👉 “Why is the skin struggling in the first place?” Instead of forcing the skin into submission, K-Beauty focuses heavily on: ✨ Hydration ✨ Barrier repair ✨ Reducing inflammation ✨ Nourishing the skin ✨ Consistency over aggression ✨ Long-term skin health What I love most is that many Korean protocols work with the skin instead of constantly fighting against it. Ironically… when you improve hydration and support the barrier correctly, a LOT of common concerns start calming down naturally: ✔️ Sensitivity ✔️ Oil imbalance ✔️ Texture ✔️ Acne flare ups ✔️ Dehydration lines ✔️ Redness ✔️ Compromised skin This is one of the reasons I became so passionate about Korean skincare technology and formulations. The goal isn’t just “perfect skin.” The goal is HEALTHIER skin. And honestly? Most people don’t need harsher. They need balance. 🫶🏽 Now tell me 👇🏽What has worked better for YOUR skin? 🇰🇷 Barrier support + hydration OR 🇺🇸 Strong corrective products/treatments? I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments 💬

Im not 💯 on what to call it, but hydration, toners, and a consistent regimen with the right products has kept my skin clear. Now ai need to really focus on these lines in my forehead? Not sure if that falls under corrective or Barrier support.

Journey Update: Maintenance Calories & Muscle
This weight loss and wellness Journey takes consistency and constant monitoring. I’ve been on TirZ for almost 1 year. June 19th will be my pepperversary! Lol 😃. 📋 My goal was to lose 30 pounds going from 156 to 126. I chose that based on what my BMI calc would be a healthy range for me and 126 was in the higher end of that. 🩺👨🏽‍⚕️ I also needed to lower my blood pressure, A1C, reduce Nerve pain. After I hit my goal most of this was accomplished. I wanted to remain that same weight but I lost an additional 6 pounds.. 🌸 I am 5’1, and at 120.6 I feel my body looks skinny. I want To go back up a few pounds but want it to be muscle. I walk a lot due to my new lifestyle in a foreign country and thought that was enough, but I’m finding I have to be more intentional with what kind of exercise I’m doing. 🌺 So, I am back to tracking more consistently. The biggest adjustment are calories. They must increase instead of eating in a deficit… Its real easy to under eat because you’re not as hungry on Tirz , and I’m on a low maintenance dose. (Im not dropping it because its helped me get off blood pressure pills and I need it to keep my A1C down). Soooooo lol 😂 Now , I have to be intentional with my muscle building and maintaining healthy Hi protein /Lowcarb + fiber. My goal is to: 🏋🏾‍♂️resistence train at least 3 x a week 💪🏾 💪🏾💪🏾 🍣Keep protien intake 80-120 grams daily 🍗🍗🍗 🌯Calorie intake 1,600-1900 daily 🥗🌯🍲 💤Uninterrupted sleep 😴 🛌

What I Realized During My Weight Loss Stall
For the past 3 months, I’ve basically been fluctuating within the same 1–2 pound range and honestly… it’s been frustrating. I kept wondering why the scale wasn’t moving, especially after losing almost 100 pounds already. But if I’m being completely honest, I had gotten complacent. I stopped going to the gym as consistently.I stopped tracking my calories closely.I wasn’t prioritizing protein the way I was in the beginning. And on top of that, I never recalculated my TDEE as my weight dropped. I was still eating the same calories I was eating when I was almost 100 pounds heavier. That was a huge realization for me. The closer you get to your goal, the more intentional you have to become. Your body changes, your needs change, and your strategy has to evolve too. So I made some adjustments: ✔️ recalculated my calories ✔️ started tracking again ✔️ refocused on protein ✔️I will getting back consistent in the gym And within days, the scale already dropped 2 pounds. That was my reminder that sometimes a stall isn’t failure….it’s feedback. I think because I wasn’t gaining weight, I convinced myself things were “fine.” But deep down, I knew I had taken my foot off the gas. Now I’m re-orienting my focus because I’m not done yet. I’m really hoping this is the shift that helps me finally break into the 190s 👀✨ If you’ve hit a plateau lately, maybe this is your reminder too: Go back to the basics that helped you in the beginning 💜

Congratulations Jewel! This was awesome self evaluation. If we’re going to be successful we have to be honest with ourselves. It is easy to slack off after you’ve lost a lot of weight. I think we feel we have “room” now. But we have to stay the course. Weight loss and maintenance is being consistent which can be the hardest part of any goal! But losing 100 pounds is Auhmazing! You will definitely surpass 190!

@Jewel Georges Process and Journey is such a powerful part of reaching our goals. Because it can be applied to everything we do.
What Was Your “Enough Is Enough” Moment?
I was thinking about this today… When did you realize the weight had to go? For me, it wasn’t just about appearance anymore. It was seeing my lab work start coming back off, triglycerides and cholesterol were being affected. The back pain was getting worse. Simple things were becoming uncomfortable. And honestly… watching my father’s health deteriorate, ultimately resulting in his death…really forced me to look at my own choices differently. That was the moment things became real for me. I realized I didn’t just want to lose weight…I wanted a better quality of life. I wanted energy. Mobility. Health. Longevity. That shift changed everything. So I’m curious… 👉 What was the moment that made you decide you needed to take your health seriously? No judgment here. Just real conversations 💛

For me it was the high blood pressure and really bad nerve pain. At 50 years old I never thought I would “have” to be on any type of pharmaceutical medications. Ive always been active, weight conscience, and health conscious. But being a fulltime caretaker had really taken a toll on my overall health. I felt I was too young to be experiencing trigger finger, nerve pain, high blood pressure, and numbness in my feet. I could barely walk without limping and that is what did it for me. This was something that only I could do. And I did. I told myself that I know what it looks like to quit, and now I want to know what it looks like when I don’t. It is amazing what losing some weight can do for your overall health. It was more than about how I looked.
Happy Sunday
