7 Day AIS Challenge Day 3 Claude Skills
For Day 3, I built a skill called scaffold-module. It scaffolds a new Python module by reading an existing module in the repo and mirroring its structure: same layers, naming, and framework style (FastAPI, Django, etc.). Triggered with /scaffold-module payments "handles Stripe webhooks and refunds". One optimization I made was adding a hard overwrite guardrail after watching it work. If the target folder or any file already exists, it stops and reports instead of merging or overwriting. I also made it show the planned file list for confirmation before writing anything, so nothing gets generated silently. I attached a screenshot of the skill file. #AISChallenge

7 Day AIS Challenge Day 2 MCP Server
For Day 2, I connected the MCP server and had Claude scrape a job board for remote developer positions. I attached a screenshot of the extracted data/output. One thing I learned was how powerful tool selection can be inside Claude Code. Once the MCP server was connected, Claude was able to understand the goal and pick the right Firecrawl tool to pull the data without me manually walking through every step. One use case idea I can see for this is helping clients collect data from websites that do not offer an API. For example, pulling job listings, vendor data, pricing information, directory data, or market research into a structured format that can be analyzed or used in an automation. I do not have a personal use case ready for this yet, but I can definitely see the potential. #AISChallenge

7 Day AIS Challenge Day 1 News Letter
For Day 1, I built a first version of a vascular surgery newsletter and attached a screenshot of the result. One thing I learned today was that Claude Code has a Visual Studio Code extension. That was a big “click” moment for me because it should help me keep projects more organized and pull context from the exact files or folders I want Claude to use. One thing I would improve in the next iteration is the image quality and medical accuracy. Some of the diagrams are not anatomically correct yet, so I would keep refining the prompts and iterating until the visuals are accurate enough for a vascular surgery audience. #AISChallenge

7-Day AIS Challenge - Professional Landing Page Done!
My to-be new website for my tax preparation business: https://tag-tax-prep-website-fxgroisvh-tag-media.vercel.app/# About 7-8 years ago I trained and got into creating Wordpress websites for myself and other businesses. Later platform updates made the whole exercise more frustrating. Going through this process is TEN TIMES EASIER, I assure you! (I will save the boring rant about Wordpress for another day.) I used my latest updated headshot as a base for the hero section, took more notes from Nate's video on creating websites, registered for a new Vercel account, and set Claude to work. The fiddly part was getting Nano Banana to remove the background from my headshot. I tried doing it myself in Affinity (Canva's purchased answer to Adobe's software), but I didn't want to take the time. My graphic design skills are rusty. First pass through Gemini gave back a mess of a photo, but switching to Nano Banana gave a much better result - or so I thought. NB had cleared the background, but exported it as a JPEG, a file format that doesn't support true transparencies. Claude caught that and fixed the file for me! But ultimately the transparent photo didn't work for my cloned layout. Since website design is in my wheelhouse, I felt comfortable prompting Claude Code to fix what went sideways in its iteration attempts. I do plan on going back and updating the website and creating companion pages until I'm satisfied with the set-up. When I get it done, I'll post the completed website at its official domain (with permission, with the full intent on showcasing the website only, not for actual promotion!). I learned a LOT on this project!
