Today I wore my new Brook Taverner wool-rich dark windowpane sports jacket. I had the sleeve length altered to best accommodate my T-Rex arm proportions. I’ve another altered Brook Taverner jacket to share, but that’s for another time. As sleeve length feels a constant battle for off the shelf stuff for me, I find I’m a bit over sensitive about that aspect of fit. So it’s nice when the alterations occur, as the length then feels natural and it switches off the negative voice in my head. As the man said, you can’t put a price on peace of mind.

I have a show out by the lake today. It’s going to be a perfect 75° F. I’m going with these Levi’s trousers I’ve had about 30 years or so. They used to be a boot cut, but I had them pegged about 20 years back. Then the ass blew out, so I had them repaired recently and they’re back in limited rotation. Linen shirt and the skinniest of my ties, under the Italian Wool and Silk Jacket I’ve had almost as long as the pants. Looking at these pictures, the shoulders look a skosh wide, but I like the sleeve length and button placement. Burgundy Belt and Loafers™️

Playing a Small Town Street Dance this evening. Opening for a Replacements Tribute band from the Big City. Nice temps around 70° F. Started with the base of Raw Selvedge Denim and an OCBD. Left the top button undone and wrapped my Black Tie loosely. Black Hilfiger Jacket and Woven Tassel Loafers. The Vintage Camco Drums are wrapped in a Black Vinyl with a Croco pattern.

A query for the sartorial vanguard regarding warm-weather belt theory. In finalizing my wardrobe for a trip to Cancún, I have run up against the limits of traditional leather. My standard-issue leather Anson straps, while impeccable in a business-casual setting, feel decidedly heavy-handed when introduced to resort wear. The stark contrast between smooth, structured leather and the slubby, breathable weave of linen creates a visual 'hard stop' that disrupts the relaxed silhouette of tropical tailoring. Accordingly, I welcome the insights of my fellow RMRS gentlemen. My palette for the trip consists of navy, khaki, and vibrant coral shorts, complemented by tailored linen trousers in green, blue, and wheat. My current hypothesis is to introduce texture over sheen, utilizing 1.5-inch micro-suede straps in navy and sand/beige. I would appreciate your counsel on whether these napped alternatives achieve the ideal synthesis of structure and ease."
