What’s Ahead Day 6 and Day 7
What a fun day we had talking about play and books. All live sessions can be found in the classroom. We have 3 live sessions remaining this week and I encourage you to pop in to 1, 2, or 3. Starting off at 10 am CST Tomorrow is the extremely talented @Joanne Langston she will be guiding you through bringing your story to life. Then at 3 pm CST @Paula Artis will be showing you and your kids how to use AI to bring your kids story to life. Both of these sessions are interactive so bring your paper, pencil, and creativity. On Saturday at 1:30 pm CST @Elliott Robertson helps is close out the summit the way we began, in the kitchen. If you were ever stuck for an idea on how to get your kids playing with their food, in the most positive way possible, this one’s for you.

It's a Wrap - Day 4
Wow, what a powerful and fun day we had today. I'm still uploading presentations to the classroom but be sure to check out the following presentations from today and one of our pre-recorded sessions as well. #Newtonian Physics with Dale thanks to @Dale Cox for helping this non-sciency mom learn more about physics including the information that scissors are levels. Who knew? #Indian Cooking with Varsha then we learned how to make chapati and a simple chickpea curry with @Varsha Mistry follow along with the video- you'll be surprised how easy it is and gain tips for adjusting the spice level. #Bread as Science with Chef Henry included how to "make bread burp" and four recipes you can make at home with your kids plus a lively discussion with @Henry Hunter about yeast, the history of bread, and more. #Unplugged Coding Stories with Liz with @Elizabeth Houston showed us easy ways to prepare our kids for computer science using paper and pencil and some fun and easy games. Have you ever thought about flowcharting who makes dinner? #Parenting Teens w/o Losing Yourself w/Chanie had us dig deep to understand not only the importance of parenting our kids but also why we need to make time for ourselves. What a wonderful way to wrap up the day with @Chanie Twersky And, with two cooking sessions today, you may want to make dessert, too check out #Kitchen as Connection with Chef Krista for some great tips and delicious recipes with Chef @Krista Melanson

Day 5 - Let's Have Some Fun
Thanks to thanks to the early risers who joined @Janell Bitton and @Celia Kibler this morning. Their sessions will be uploaded to the classroom shortly. And, for those who are looking for more ways to instill a love of reading into their family, be sure to mark @Elizabeth Raum session on The Joys of Reading at 2 p.m. We've had lots of sessions and lots of conversations, and today, I wanted to lighten things up with a little game of This or That. Drop your comments below and I'll randomly choose a winner from the Wheel of Names on Saturday for a free All-Access pass. You have to choose! No loopholes. Would you rather... 1. Cook dinner with a 7-year-old sous chef OR let a teen choose the entire menu? 2. Give up your phone for 24 hours OR let your kid see your weekly screen-time report? 3. Learn crochet OR learn guitar? 4. Let your child ask an expert one question about you OR you get to ask an expert one question about them? 5. Bake bread without a recipe OR build something without instructions? 6. Your family gets an unexpected free Saturday: make something, cook something, play something, or go somewhere? 7. FINAL BOSS: You can keep only one Unplug & Play track for the rest of the Summit: Culinary, Tech, Experts, or Craft & Hobby. Which survives?

What Does Day 4 Have in Store?
Wow! Can you believe it's already Wednesday and we're on Day 4 of the summit? If you haven't been able to join live, all of the replays have been added to the classrooms, well, except for Cristal's. I'm editing that one today. Today we have a full calendar packed with all kinds of fun for you and your family. All times are central and check the calendar for zoom links. The fun begins at 9:00 a.m. with @Dale Cox sharing a bit of Physics with us. If today's session is anything like yesterday's food science session, you're in for a fun time. Next, joining us at 9:30 a.m. from the UK is @Varsha Mistry with an Indian Cooking demo. I've been a member of Varsha's community for a while now and I can vouch for the ease of prep, my family loves what I'm learning to create. At 12:00 p.m. @Henry Hunter will be joining us bringing Bread as Science and answering your bread baking questions. For those of you who have been in the community for awhile, you may recall my on Saturday We Bake posts where I share what I'm learning to create over in the Crust and Crumb Academy. At 2:00 p.m. @Elizabeth Houston will join us to share Unplugged Coding Stories. Liz and I met in another community and it turns out we live in the same town! Small world and fun tea time. Check the Map and see if there are community members near you that you can connect with. In this session, Liz shares what it actually feels like to think like a computer. Wrapping up the day at 3:00 p.m. is @Chanie Twersky who will be sharing some important insights on how to parent teens. It's a delicate phase in a child/parent journey and we sometime gloss over what's most important to address. And, if you have teen sons, you may also want to check out #Praise What Can Be Repeated with Max who works with moms of teen boys. A perfect complement to Chanie's session.

Summit Day 3
Here’s some more pre-recorded sessions you don’t want to miss. @Jen Staniforth shares ideas around #Emotional Regulation Through Play w/Jen a great segue to our play sessions later this week. @Betty Jo Winters has a fun and upbeat session designed to help you #How to Choose the Best Toys with Betty Jo for your kids. With back to school and the holidays approaching, it’s worth a listen. One aspect many families find challenging is how to teach kids about money and finance, @Gopika Ashok M has us covered with an excellent session on #Finance in 60 Seconds Be sure to check the calendar for the times of today’s live sessions. We have more fun in store.
