Hello from Frankfurt Main in Germany
Hello everybody, just joined the group. I am 63 years old living in Germany, raised my daughter all by myself. She moved away 8 years ago, but we still have a close relationship. I am hoping to find my way into slower living, getting rid of clutter and living more self compassion. I am curious what to find in Connies group. Petra

Welcome to the group. My son moved to Berlin nearly two years ago and loves it. Not so much the trains after a another bad experience at the weekend with broken trains!!
Saturday
Happy Saturday, sweet sisters. I’m here, enjoying my coffee on this misty Pacific NW morning. Banana Bread in the oven, and gentle guitar coming through the speakers. How good can today get? Knowing I have things to accomplish, but honoring the rhythm that suits me so not to create overwhelm. I must learn how to slow down. It’s a hard lesson for me. Join me for a moment, and have a wonderful day.

Sounds wonderful 😊. I had lots of little tasks to do on Saturday. After our very stressful week I started Saturday morning with exercise and meditation. I then went out for a walk down the lane and listened to the birds singing and came home feeling much more grounded. It is so easy to rush around and get things done and be a slave to getting ahead. But I am learning slowly to be more intentional taking each task as it comes. Still a work in progress! Here are some of the photos I took along the way on my walk of the hope of spring coming... Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Oh my goodness! I had a lightbulb moment in this class. Thanks, my beautiful friends for a VERY enlightening class. I eliminate the unnecessary mental exercise of WORRYING. Worrying has never improved anything in my life, but, it has certainly made my life more complicated.

@Julia Dinter I needed to hear this today. We are in the middle of an external school inspection which started yesterday. It had rained heavily for 24 hours from Monday morning. We wanted to get in early and every road into the town where the school is located was flooded. My 20 minute commute took over an hour and we were all late. Then, the pressure of the inspection has everyone stressed. It felt like the end of the world yesterday!! So I love 'how good can it get'. Everything is going well for my department so far. It is so easy to be negative but we have so much to be thankful for. Thank you ❤️
Let's stay connected this weekend!
Weekend check-in, anyone? 😊 Last weekend felt a little quiet around here, and I found myself missing these conversations. No pressure to be profound or productive—just popping in, sharing a small moment, or saying hello counts. I’ll be on and off with my lattes, happy to stay connected if you are.

@Daniela Renner Yes we are in the South West in Somerset.
Do I need a dryer?
Inspired by Connie's videos, and having recently moved house, I asked myself - do I really need to buy a new dryer? I've been going to the dryer in our local shopping centre which is expensive but apparently using commercial machines is better for the environment if you have to use a dryer. Also looking it up online, I see that on balance having less clothes and washing more often uses less water overall (cost of growing cotton etc).

@Karen McDonaugh-Nicholls We live in the South West and I use the dryer in the winter to save the house from getting damp. I have just hung the shirts outside this morning as they will dry in the sunshine. I looked into the heated airing racks but there doesn't seem to be much advantage in energy savings. I was also put off because they are quite big and you have to be around when it is switched on. So I just put on full loads to dry of similar items. In the summer much prefer to line dry outside. I think you have to go with what is right for you and the climate you live in.

@Daniela Renner I'll let Karen tell you in more detail but it is a long narrow canal boat on the canal network. We have done some narrow boat holidays.....very relaxing 😎
