The Hidden Magdalene Method Inside Netflix’s Hit Series Another Self
What the series reveals about trauma, inherited memory, and Mary Magdalene’s path to freedom Five years ago, before I had the language for the Seven Powers or knew I would create the Magdalene Method, Dr. Anna told me to watch Another Self. At the time, my body was trembling so badly that I could no longer hold my camera. Then I discovered that the main character was a surgeon whose hands had also begun to shake. Now the show has returned, and watching the new season felt like seeing our work reflected back to me. The body is not betraying us. It may be repeating an unfinished message. The women in Another Self must face the patterns hidden beneath their illnesses, relationships, desires, fears, and family histories. Once the shadow becomes visible, they can no longer avoid what it has been trying to reveal. This series is the Magdalene Method unfolding on screen. I wrote about the strange way it entered my life, the Seven Powers, the burden women are carrying in their bodies, and why so many people are searching for deeper answers now. Have you ever felt that your body understood something before your mind was ready to see it?

"The problem begins when medicine treats the body as though it has no story, while spirituality treats illness as though it has no biology." "Her body can still be waiting for her to do something with what she knows." These are the two sentences that I felt deeply. I have yet to watch the series, but I am excited to begin! As I read this article, I witnessed my own healing journey, even though I never put labels to the steps I took... not like this anyway. What I have learned is that women begin sloughing off their authentic selves around 8-10 years old, as our bodies begin to mature and society begins to influence us more. We go from the carefree, full on version of self, to the boxed in, expectation filled, “shoulded" self we are told to become. We leave our wholeness on the playground and find ourselves 50 and fragmented. I feel the 7 powers will lead us to wholeness once again. My personal journey is why I decided to be the lead author of Soul Shine: Excavate Your Light and Claim Your Soul’s Purpose, and Sensual Soul Shine: A Reclamation of the Feminine! We are not meant to play small and fragmented. We are meant to shine from the whole, sensual and powerful light we truly are!

I am so very sad that I missed the summit. My mom had a medical emergency on Tuesday evening and I have been by her side at the hospital. I am her primary caregiver and POA. I do have family that helps also, but I am the main one. I so wanted to be grounded in Mary energy. I began my awakening in late 2017/early 2018 after wallowing in victim energy after my husband had an affair. In 2019, fear landed in my lap and I am on a mission to help people see where they live in fear, how it keeps them small and far from themselves and God. In 2020, I began my author journey with a published poem. I now have a poetry book and three collaborative books out in the world and many more to come. In 2021, I developed a teen and women’s yoga, journaling and meditation program. In 2022, I sat with my dad as he was dying of lung cancer and got to know him on such a deeper level. In 2023, I met a gentleman on Tik Tok and we began the Be the Spark Movement. In 2024, I started my Soul Confetti podcast, where we share our stories of trauma and healing and coming out better on the other side. Not until yesterday, as I was putting together some thoughts around helping others on their caregiving for dementia patients journey, did I realize the roots of all I do. To hold others and help them not feel alone in whatever they are going through. I felt so abandoned in my personal trauma that I never want another to feel so completely alone! That is the underlying premise behind all I do. There it is! And Here it is, a group that holds and honors each woman in their journey, curiosity, restlessness, deep knowing and awakening! I am so very grateful to be here! Thank you!!
🌹 The magic of sisterhood was so alive today
Tonight, I am sitting here feeling deeply blessed.🙏 Today we had the pleasure of hearing from so many beautiful voices, each carrying a different relationship with Mary Magdalene, a different tradition, a different lens, and a different way of understanding the Divine Feminine. And that is one of the core philosophies of The Magdalene Network. We do not gather because we all believe the exact same thing. We gather because we are willing to listen with honor We gather because wisdom often arrives through many doors. We gather because Mary Magdalene’s story is too vast, too layered, and too alive to be held by one perspective alone. We began the day with Flo Aeveia Magdalena and her beautiful offering, Our Unified Presence with the Essence of Magdalene. She reminded us that so many of us carry a personal relationship with Mary, but that relationship is also part of something larger: a family of the heart, a remembrance, a coming together of souls who feel her call. Then we heard from our dear friend and colleague Vanessa Tavernetti, who guided us into the mystery of Mary Magdalene, the Black Madonnas, and Miraculture. Vanessa has such a gift for bringing us back into relationship with the earth, the sacred feminine, and the miraculous threads that are still alive in the world around us. And Aude Barras, with her passionate and reverent delivery, brought many of us to tears. Her teaching on Magdalene as devotion, as icon, as doorway to Love and to the living presence of Christ, felt like a prayer moving through the room. Then Soul Voice brought the day into our own bodies and hearts. We looked at how unaddressed trauma, old conditioning, and the patterns we carry can keep us from living as fully human and fully divine. We witnessed women having revelations in real time. We held our sisters in reverence. We listened without needing to fix. We remembered that we are all capable of so much more than we have been told. At one point, I looked out into the sea of women gathered for Mary Magdalene and the rising of the feminine, and I felt something I will never forget.
