What are you doing for fun this weekend?
Yes, I know this is a funny question, but it's one that overachiever's have a hard time answering.... So tell us. What are you doing for fun this weekend? Not controlled, not structured, not outcome based...

@Holly Lewis I hope you find the spontaneous fun!

@Jorie Feldman Awesome! I don't think Ive ever had French food which now that I think about it is kinda weird. 🤔
Urgency and control
When leaders feel out of control, we speed up. Will you comment and tell me what situation makes you rush even when rushing doesn’t help?

I feel the need to rush through emails to make sure to get them all answered and to finish any tasks that are waiting in there. It feels like a race.
The Body Test for Urgency
Urgency lives in the body before it lives in your calendar. What does urgency feel like in your body?

It feels fast and powerful and I can't sit still or feel settled. I feel activated but in a frantic way.
Midnight sun
Have you ever been someplace where the sun doesn’t set? I was stationed in Adak, Alaska and in the summer we had about 17 hours of daylight. It took some getting used to. My concept of what was appropriate for certain times of the day certainly changed. There’s a place in Norway where the sun doesn’t set at all in the summer. Has anyone been there? Who wants to go? https://youtu.be/umQmhNRdl6k?si=_OCLwAMrNHFA90hB

That sounds amazing! I would love to visit and possibly live where the sun doesn't set!

@Holly Lewis I'm not sure but I think it would feel like freedom. And I think I would have more energy. My biggest obstacle in a situation like that would be to create enough structure that would keep me moving forward but not lock me in.
Book Review - The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins
Hey all! Jorie and I have been doing book reviews with each other every week for quite a while and we wanted to let you in on the party. We are starting The Let Them Theory this week. Here’s how this works. We read a chapter a week and post what we learned or found interesting and if there’s anything we are going to try and incorporate. It doesn’t matter when you post. Just use this thread and put the chapter number first and then your thoughts. I love this format. Not only do you learn from the book, but you also get to see everyone else’s thoughts and ideas. It’s a win win! When we get close to the end, I will post a poll for the next book!

@Jorie Feldman fear is sneaky and powerful which can be a devastating combination if you're not aware. (I may or may not know this first hand 😉)

@Jorie Feldman That's good awareness. I'm a little behind in listening to this so I'll have to get on that 🤣 But this is my second time going through this book and I remember the airplane story and I totally resonate with that annoyance she felt. I frequently find myself thinking how inconsiderate people are because they seem to not care about the people around them. So now I'm trying to figure out when that is legit true or when it's just my need to control things that I can't actually control.
